The qualifications and range of expertise among the people running for parliament is absolutely shameful- After the last election, I lost hope. From the FNM, PLP and down to the DNA the majority of the candidates lacked any real skill or training or experience beyond the Bahamas that would translate in a national leadership position.. There is a sharp drop off after the top five candidates. It is obvious that everyone else are just riding, but the country has paid dearly for that dead weight. The problem remains that Bahamians vote based on emotion rather than knowledge. We do not know candidates and now we don't really know parties. We do not demand debates, or public discussions with the candidates and continue to accept the top down talking points of the manifestos - without accountability. Utter BS. If you can't put two sentences together, think on your feet, have any ideas to present when asked or challenged for your constituency's growth then your good intentions to serve are not enough.

And the Tribune obviously isn't editing the posts because the spelling is atrocious. The next story he posted one finds letters cobbled together like "sureal" and "Burt"etc. Incorrect spelling. And in this article Miller's name isn't spelled correctly - the first word in the second to last paragraph. Do better.

I have been looking at the way Florida and Florida Power and Light have been operating. I am convinced that their multi-prong approach is the way forward. Bahamians always want a single answer and that never makes sense. I call it religious lottery thinking. As if one thing will solve all problems. (Oban) In Florida the energy plan doesn't seem to involve demanding everyone to transform their homes into individual energy grids- but there is a program giving low interest loans to homeowners to make homes more energy efficient which also includes the installation of hurricane windows. New housing being built are all are mandated to be green builds with some going completely solar. In addition the main grid managed by FPL is generating energy in multiple ways- huge solar component paid for by the other components and now producing a high percentage of their energy. So much so that there was a commercial earlier this year indicating a 30% drop in energy costs. Good gracious! A drop. Compared to us, their energy costs were already low and now this. Why can't Bahamians think in complex ways? Why are we always looking at a single answer? Why can't we develop and maintain systems to solve our problems? Energy generation is one of the major economic dead weights holding this country back. The fact that no government has been able to move forward on solving this issue as long as I have been on this earth speaks volumes for the lack of vision and leadership- and doesn't bode well for the future.

Gladstone road for a central post office is lunacy. terrible idea and terrible planning. Obviously zero consideration given as to who uses the post office and how its used. More dumb ass so called leadership.
