We need an international commercial bank like Bank of America or even HBC to come into the Bahamas. Who cultivates this kind of business for the country? Someone needs to do something.
The most sober and sensible thing I have read in this paper in awhile. But I highly doubt the government has the political will to make the call either way Old Fort suggests and Meyers deems necessary. It’s the reason the country is where it’s at today. No one wants to do the hard work.
Black man please stop the political posturing. If Bahamians only took a moment to see what’s going on they would see a Broke legal system unable to persecute murderers and molesters and most important completely unwilling to hang anyone.
Its been time to abandon that roach and rat infested facility and build a state of the art facility, The problem then would be staffing it with doctors and nurses who actually know what they are doing. Healthcare in the Bahamas is a money game, tainted by the influence of big pharma, doctors investing in different parts of the supply chain and has been for a long time. It has little to do with healing and health.
Raw material for export. Stop wasting resources and legalize it! Driving in Miami the other day- what do I see? "The Marijuana Doctor" a store big and bold on Biscayne Boulevard. Looked nice, clean and clinical. We are going to be late to the party.
This statement is utter tripe. "She is not speaking in her capacity as minister, she is not stating the position of government on the matter." Utter BS. The ONLY reason her opinion was sought was because she is the so called Minister of Social Services. The ONLY reason. So OF course she was speaking in her capacity as Minister- if she wasn't- who would care what has to say? He views would then be her personal opinion. She is unfit for the job.
