What does it say about a major political party that would put the chauffeur up for a seat? This is where we have descended people. Most of the people running in this election are not fit for political office and the leaders of said parties might be good with politicking and running elections but as America is witnessing right now- that does not translate to good governance. The two are very separate and the country has suffered from extremely poor leadership and governance for too many years.
Do you think they would stay if they could afford to be elsewhere? Bahamians arent real acticists. we hope and pray rather than agitate. our passivity will kill us this time.
I am not so amazed how Christie and Minnis draw on the words, phrases and tactics of that Cheeto to the north. Alas it will come to bite both of these fellas with profound lack of imagination in the arse. My fervent prayer is for both Minnis and Christie to lose their seats in the upcoming election- making sure the PLP and FNM do what the wider Bahamian people have called for and what they seem to refuse to listen to- Change ya leadership. Change ya crooked tactics. There is no reason why the country is where it is except for 50 years of piss poor governance. I wouldnt let Christie or Minnis lead me to the flickin corner if the choice was mine. This sounds like a reason for the police to use their Chinese riot gear. If Christie wants to awaken a quiet people, let's see where he is willing to take it.
I like the acronym BS for Symonette. Seems apropo. That he would announce his candidacy without going through the party process shows what a bunch of BS the process really is. I think we have had enough BS on all fronts and this BS needs to sit his tired self down. If he can show me ten initiatives- I would lower it to five - that he was personally responsible for while in government all those years, I would publicly change my tune on him. But my guess is that BS would be hard pressed- like most politrickans to come up with anything he personally can put his stamp on. The Bahamas doesn't need him. Doc should tell him, if he wants to run, he have to run in St. Barnabas!
supposedly microwaves have a protective element that prevents xray machines from seeing through them. they have been used for years to smuggle drugs, money and guns in and out of this country. they are relatively affordable in nassau - no real need to import them, so that was probably a tip off.
DO NOT send Smith to St. Barnabas. The people of that constituency deserve better. Fights with fellow parliamentarians, investigations on sitting judgments- He is a deplorable. Dont think these people don't see it. Italia Johnson once represented the area as an FNM!
The sign of a deeply colonized mind and useless government...what is destroying the society you have been tasked to govern (crime, dump pollution, poor energy delivery), only become a priority when the colonizers and neo-colonizers deem them problems. People first meaning organizing a decent societies for Bahamians and inviting others to join us. But our government's performance is akin to black plantation overseers, who when given the whip from the white slave masters and keep the slaves inline on their behalf.
This is a complete disgrace. A gaggle of politicians/ lawyers for sale and willing to abuse their access to power to corrupt the judicial process. Smith should be ashamed, but I know shame dropped out his vocabulary years ago. The unnamed police officer...sigh. What a corrupt society the Bahamas has become. I have no comment on the pointed use of the nolles. These people don't give a rat's azz how it looks and what people think it means.
This right here is a problem. The police response to this incident was disgraceful! What is the point of an APB when you had their bad azz right there? Those officers need to be suspended without pay.
