Miniscule? One of the largest operations in the country? If that is the rationale then no business smaller than Bahamar should pay VAT- Their contributions by comparison are microscopic! But this is the kind of dumb answer you get from a man who I am told can't balance his own checkbook. Can't expect him to be a good steward of the public purse. He should be nowhere near government. Haven't heard one concrete thing of benefit to the country come from his mouth since he was elected. With that nose, in this picture he looks like a long lost son of PGC!
I hate to put too much on this but how these two marches evolve will be instructive. The PLP is essentially asking their supporters to march with them to make it seem as if We March is as they say - FNM. This is a cooptation of the majority rule narrative is a divide a conquer strategy that I hope beyond hope backfires. It is dirty, misguided and has sadly become typical of PLP/Bahamian politics. It is also clear sign- as if we needed another clear sign- that the political class that runs the PLP is completely out of touch with the wide range of Bahamian people and their needs. They continue to deal in our least common denominator- lowness. Bahamians please don't march for party on January 10- Shock their azz! March for country! Forward Bahamas!
OPEC said that they will decrease production in the coming months to raise prices so Bahamians are paying in advance for more expensive fuel so that the dealers have the cash to pay for the more expensive fuel\- that they will then sell to us at even higher prices with the excuse that gas has gone up. We are constantly chasing the tail as consumers.
So they are the new banking system that Bank of the Bahamas grandfathers? Didn't Flowers apply for a banking license a long time ago and got denied? Say what you want but I am beginning to think he needs to teach some business classes at UoB. The man aint no fool.
Sheeprunner12 you just threaded the needle there. Sounds like the beginning of a good campaign slogan to send them home. How this sound? "Who led the country when crime exploded in the 80s? The PLP! Who led the country when the economy was downgraded? The PLP! Who led the country to a record murder rate? The PLP! Who led the country when we achieved the lowest grade point average in the history of Bahamian education? The PLP! Who allowed millions and millions of tax papers money to be stolen at Road Traffic, BAMSI, etc. without accountability? The PLP! Who sold the management to BEC to an American concern who cant keep the lights on, causing Bahamians millions of dollars in losses - stoves, water heaters, Tvs, washers- fried? The PLP! Who can't tell us where the VAT money gone? The PLP! It is time my people. It is time. We gat to save ourselves from this path to HELL. Roll out PLP! Roll out! You are FIRED!
Y'all here what this man said? :“I have a view as to how people react to these things,” he said. “I have a view as to the constitutional implications if someone tries to run when they’re not even a member of Parliament. The Constitution clearly governs the process and he doesn’t qualify as a member of Parliament to be a leader in the House of Assembly."
Is he completely absent? Did he not witness that masterclass in the difference between constitutional law and party rules displayed by the FNM? If we want any more evidence of the lack of difference between PGC and Minnis, this is it folks. Serve up two super dunce caps one in yellow and one in red for each of them. Sears isn't running for leader in the House of Assembly but the leader of the PLP! I want everything changed so I sure hope he wins and send some folks into retirement. Please start with some of those PLPs supposedly representing those southern islands and end in Marathon!
Drain the swamp like Trump? Are you serious? He has ass-embled the richest, dumbest, entitled cabinet in the history of the world. Those people build swamps and they are the alligators that inhabit them. We already have Trump 1 and 2- PGC and the rockin doc. Where we are is where America is going if they don't watch out, with Trump at the wheel. In the words of the good old PLP- Steady as she goes- straight to hell.
It has nothing to do with the principle of majority rule- that is what democracies are based on- but far more to do with unchecked corruption and piss poor leadership and governance.
Sounds strange to me. If it was robbery why them? Just pulling over a random car in such dramatic fashion? Most people broke after Christmas and smart people don't carry much cash around if they can help it. And the wife takes to social media immediately after? Wow. If I experienced something like this, the last thing I would be thinking about is social media. Just saying, kinda strange to me.
