I am so tired of Bahamians talking about woulda, coulda, shoulda-in politics- why didnt they pass it when they were in power. all just remember the politically convenient side of the story. he is but a man- one that will die like all of us. When the FNM was in power the PLP derailed the referendum and now that the PLP is in power many FNMs won't vote for it because they don't want to have it on the record that it became law under a PLP government- Lets be real. It is all politricks at the expense of the people yet again.

I have not read Sir Arthur's full speech but he sounds like a true statesman with these words. Kudos. Our parliamentarians of both stripes are playing politricks with this bill along with (And I hate to say it, because I consider myself a Christian and not a Christian in name only) these backward thinking churches led by insecure men and deluded women- yes I said it. We are equal in the eyes of God.

"BTW I Belittle dumb people, white and black." Publicly admitting self- hate? lol. Anyone who uses the term "African-American racist" and "African Americanized" in the Bahamas or elsewhere, must have an IV hooked up to Fox NEWS or is just plain dumb. My guess is u might be both.

I enjoyed going to watch the horses run as a very young child. families would sit under the pine trees on what I think would be the east side of the tracks and I would run to the rails to see them warm up, walk and race. loved it!
sorry it's no longer around. keep on keeping on James. maybe someday, someone will listen.

sometimes I wonder whether McWeeny is really the prime minister and Perry is the puppet. I be,I've that he is in fact the most powerful man in this country. whatever he says goes. sad.

Do we really need an "ordained minister" and "lawyer" in the senate who wants to be a politician? Sweet Jesus no. the bahamian people consider these professions entrepreneurial. and that is sad, sad. sad. Beyond that - based on what she is saying, this was a poor choice all around. I expected better from Pintard - though not Minnis.
Too many public figures in the Bahamas are poor fiscal managers and basically thieves. I see them all the time, knowing the victims they stole from - usually through their so called businesses. can't pay their rent, take folks money and don't do work, but frontin with some God bless me bull. God gotta be sick of us.. if you can't manage a small business in this country I dont understand why you think you should be given the purse strings of the public. No morals, ethics or sense. this needs to go beyond public disclosure- to have time when the general public could come forth with financial grievances against those seeking public office- because these people LIE all the time- we don't have the support systems in place to make them accountable.

For the record- I am NO fan of Wilchcombe- ambitious dimwit IMHO- but this Patterson guy - in fact the entire Christian Council really need to go on a retreat and figure out how they could truly be effective in this day and age. these kinds of comments are meaningless. Why don't they focus on protecting children and women from sexual violence? Why don't they feed the hungry? Do some job training? Support a literacy program? Build some shelters for people who need safe haven? More important why don't they clean up the house of the good Lord? Too many ministers in the country, and wanna be ministers and "lay ministers" are the biggest hypocrites in the land and need to sit their azz down. just like the politicians can't pay their bills, sweetheartin, abusing children, homosexual lifestyle in private and heterosexual in public (and I am not homophobic just allergic to the hypocrisy of this and a witness of the pain it causes over and over again in the Bahamas). Churches need to change. The message cannot just be about arranging your insurance plan for the afterlife - it has to become about something larger than a damn car for the minister and a new hat for the first lady. Churches need to try meeting the earthly needs of its congregation and the community around it. And since the council is so concerned about what women do with their bodies- I trust that the Council will be the largest supporter of the equal rights bills - yeah right.

This is a funky deal - contract and 36 acres of crown land? ... I hate to say it but .... at least he is a Bahamian. I bumped along that road the last time I was in Cat Island dipping and dodging some serious potholes- that was two and a half years ago - and nothing has changed- wow.

i was wondering the same thing Oracle- Since the surcharge is more than twice the actual usage bill- I imagine they will try to double tax it anyway- mo money.
