I agree with you- and KB- who held on to his principles. if carnival is successful - whatever that means- what do u think will happen to the declining and poorly organized Junkanoo parade? I think it will slowly die or at least strip back to the music- hopefully without brass! Bahamians are going to follow the money. most leaders of the Junkanoo groups already are in their support of carnival...not the symbolic leaders but the real leaders in the shacks
the last bill I used about 35 dollars in electricity but the surcharge was $80! I feel as if BEC holding me up every month! corrupt gangsters don't even need a gun.
Dear Prime Minister, Whoever whispering in your ears sir- LYING! It is past time for you to go. If you stay on it means the party is weak and unstable due to infighting. That's what you get for thinking ya ga be here forever and not mentoring replacements. But I digress. If you don't quietly go into the sunset, like LOP and HAI you will be soundly defeated to the point of humiliation. They both thought they knew more than the people too and preferred the harmonies of "yes" men and women, than the drumming of the other people as they chanted- time to go! You know something if you need your hip cut- again - to send you into retirement- so be it. Put plenty shea butter on it- because it is going to hurt. Reading this really makes me sad though because after 40 years in "public service" what exactly is your legacy? What will your Prime Ministership be remembered for? What have you done as a leader to improve this country? What was your vision when you came into this and can you list point by point what you have achieved in service to that vision? Sincerely, Bahamian
Birdie Birdie Birdie. There are thieves of every color and creed- but the ones we see in this BOB case seem to be black. I applaud Mr. Cash for continuing the fight- He is black too Birdie- in case you ain't notice. It is not about black and white, PLP or FNM. Its about right and wrong, honour and corruption. We have had our fill as a country of wrong and corruption and those of us will come down as hard on the FNM with the BEC board scandal and the silent board member Mr. McDonald (Sir we have yet to hear from you) as we will on this BOB scandal. This is a disgrace and the political class should know that we are fed up and we will not be silent until heads roll.
the former FNM government knows exactly who this person is because the change happened at the Cabinet level and we all know who needed to be convinced to go against the board and who the final decision maker was. I am not saying that that particular person took a red cent- but he must know which board member lobbied him or his minister and who he listened to.
Stop the foolish talk. We cannot expect the government to pay for this and pay for that but not want to pay our share of the burden- people=government. If the PLP didn't implement VAT the FNMs would have had to. Elected officials shouldn't be a allowed to borrow another cent, businesses should not price gouge the consumer and the consumers should be more concerned about insisting on government accountability and transparency in budget concerns and expenditures in the face of VAT. We cannot continue as we have been, wanting goods and services and expecting the government to do magic tricks to find the money to prop up the economy. they don't know any tricks. the only thing they know is to borrow- and borrowing adds to debt burden and excessive depth burden will devalue our dollar. That is bad enough but we cannot allow the government to fritter away the public purse and cloak corruption.
If it is a man as indicated- then I think its pretty clear who it is. My vote is for the one who could use the money most-and received all kinds of board posts in the early 90s- but it could also be the other one- LOL. Whoever it is- I have to say- I actually think you are about to be exposed!
Cable Bahamas has a terrible product and should not be allowed to price gauge the Bahamian people before competition enters the market for the substandard service they provide. Two hundred channels is really the same seventy channels three times. Blackouts on free stations like CBC during the world cup was the last straw for me. Cable tells me that I have to accept the feed they provide - spanish stations and all- but don't let me access the feed I have paid for when they want me to pay extra for a repackaged product- I already have access to based on my subscription to them- which they then block to prevent me from accessing it- Ridiculous.
