members of parliament need to hang out in A and E for a night on any weekend to see the goings on there. what a mad house. it would make excellent reality tv though. the fact that EMT workers don't have health insurance speaks to the many many deep issues at play in this country. the time has come to change things and if we must- one at a time. equality for women. insurance for EMTs and protection for emergency care personnel at the hospital... a good start.

It isn't about gay marriage rights- it's about equal rights for women. why are you trying to make this about something it isn't? Read and try to actually comprehend what is being proposed and stop displaying ignorance and politricking.

Just think about it- If the government recovered what is owed in Delinquent taxes- It wouldn't have to borrow that 343million it says it needs. It would actually have a surplus of funds- in the neighborhood of 200million dollars. If shaming em gets the delinquents to pay- here's hoping this starts a trend. That is one cheque you know will clear!

It is past time for those posing as wealthy, respectable, society members, no matter what their political stripe, to pay their damn bills. how many of them can actually run a "successful" business without government assistance- whether it's a loan they can't pay back, a government contract, or a political connection that allows them to not pay utility bills in a timely fashion? if they can't pay their own bills or run a successful business- why should we put them in charge of the people's purse? I am tired of Distractions by these unethical, entitled, and criminal spin doctors. their level of entitlement is despicable! these double and triple standards will be the end of this country.
And My Dear Lady P. I am a fan, but if you can't pay the property tax- downsize- stop frontin' and paying for pride! And before we focus too much on this - she gat plenty company- we big on appearances in this country, too big!
Miller has no shame. Perry Christie if you don't do some housecleaning - quick fast and in a hurry you will become a historical joke- unfortunately the ultimate joke will be on the future of the country.

Banker A Bahamian passport is one of the BEST passports to hold in the world. I travel a lot and widely and this passport is welcomed in most countries without a visa. I have watched my American friends stand in line in remote places to pay for visas at the border while I breezed through with a smile and my money in my pocket. The other reason is taxes. we don't have income tax and if you are pulling in global money and don't want to share it with da people for the benefit of all- the Bahamas is your place.

Greentea says...

Actually a good political move for Minnis- for a change.
What is sad is that we all know That Mr. Bostwick will not serve a day in jail and will not pay a dollar in fines. The Bahamian political class- no matter the party, no matter the race- takes care of its own.

They need to put the person who posted his bail in prison right next to him.

The PM suffers from verbal diarrhea. His intervention on behalf of Lightbourne was wrong the more he talks, the dumber he sounds. Is it possible to put out a cease and desist order against that mouth? What is perhaps even worse is that if the good accountant was in fact seen packing his boxes in recent days as this article seems to indicate, it meant that the PMs intervention was meaningless. He has zero power here. The emperor has no clothes.
