it's not just a question of the PLP - can we afford bad governance, political embezzlement of the country's limited fund and unchecked corruption- from any elected group? absolutely not.
Leslie Miller should not have been reappointed- but politically what else could a weakened PLP do? That is of course the problem- decisions are made at a national level for political reasons and not the national good. This is another example of compromised leadership.
I am curious- what did this young man do for a living before the 2012 election? Was he already a Director at BIS? For the past months i have been saying that Christie needed a press secretary. I didn't know he already had one! And as sad as this story is- tragic really- even without the details. It really is wrong for the man to be using the government car to conduct personal business. It is what it is.
after all of these years BEC still has to go to miami for personnel to fix their equipment? they haven't trained ANY of their employees in this area- not one? suck teeth.
who is in charge in the PLP? the deputy decides when he should share pertinent information with the prime minister? what a joke. and it will take him weeks to do so? y'all may not have weeks. I believe some fellas about to invoke the spirit of the dissident eight. Forward- Rollins, Wells, Moss ... who else going?
you are wrong on this one Thisisours. it isn't about "them" at all. it is about equal human and citizenship rights being available to all. Your decision not to vote politicizes this process and hence will make it about them. I heard some one say they believe in the principles of the referendum but hate that if it passes - the PLP will get the credit. THAT is the tragedy of this place. We place political tribalism before national progress. This referendum shows the mess we are in.
this is ridiculous. gay tourists roll into the Bahamas every day and walk Bay Street. I don't see the socially anti- gay Bahamian Christians down there protesting them. voting for equal rights for women has zero to do with gay rights and if it did- the sky isn't going to fall. The way religion is being used and interpreted to hide the misogyny in this society is appalling. God must truly be angry. The hypocrisy in this country galls me.
