Of course there will be a surge, but not necessarily **new** cases...
Only **0.03**% of the population has actually been tested (117 tests out of 400,000 people).
Figure that each of the 4 known cases has been passing it on to an additional 2 people per day since infection, and each of those people have passed on to two people, and each of those people.....
> Shell is not in the power business; Shell supplies fuel.
Clearly this 'anonymous' source is rather ill-informed. Shell has been changing it's focus for some time to become much more involved in push for renewables and electricity supply globally.
The company has in recent times bought, and continues to buy, numerous energy/electricity companies around the world (in those progressive countries where energy supply is not controlled by government). In doing so, they are buying the knowledge, expertise and equipment to be able to not only deploy energy solutions, but also provide fuel to run them at a lower cost, being that they already produce oil & gas and don't need to purchase from a third party.
It does seem like a good partner for BPL that will ultimately benefit the people of The Bahamas, local business and the economy in general.
You realise that the humane society is a volunteer organization right?
It gets zero assistance from government, runs on donations, and can barely stay afloat due to the animal cruelty and pet owner ignorance rife in The Bahamas. (And, clearly, the ignorance of people like yourself)
So, unless you are running a massive overworked, underfunded charity organization with no support from anyone other than a handful of donors and people who work full time for little or no pay, I’d suggest you take your whining a$$ elsewhere.
Your favourite party had members who joked about slapping women around in the HOA. And others who laughed and laughed their fat as*es off at the thought. Disgusting humans who deserve to rot in hell.
If the Christian Council wants a say in how the Government conducts it's affairs, it should start it's own political party and run for election.
Until then, they should be largely ignored.
On the actual issue - a National Lottery would bring in millions to the Treasury (the PEOPLE's money) and economy, instead of the current situation where the money goes into the pockets of two individuals.
It's a no-brainer for The Bahamas, as people are going to gamble no matter what. Anyone who thinks otherwise is, well, below of the 'no brain' bracket!

Acceptance of violence as the norm and a disregard for all life?
Which stems from a lack of moral standards and boundaries being taught in the home.
And usually starts with 'tree hugger' things like animal cruelty, which devalues life of all types.

Agreed. This should have been done by the two previous governments - loooooong overdue.
No doubt it will have the un/under-educated up in arms, but it's so needed!
