Very sad, that we do not practice saving money. Very sad, everyone is entitled to help but it is not good sign when a month, even before, after the job door closes people having nothing. Social assistance from the union or govt is not going to satisfy someone in that position cause you have no cushion, no savings. Further, i continue to be surprised as Bahamians said they dont stand in line for things - so im surprised when they arrived and saw the line they didnt leave.

I believe he is referring to the fact that three weeks or whenever when we went on the first lockdown Davis said explicitly that there is now evidence to warrant lockdown and the govt is impeding our civil liberties. That was talking points from him and the chairman. Now, he says we need to electronically monitor and lock it all down. Whether he is right is not the issue, the issue is the changes in his rhetoric

I believe the only people who would be claiming if govt employees/civil servants salaries were cut are the unionized govt employees as the union bosses have already started up with their threats. Yall acting like no one is getting assistance from thr govt, like people havent been getting assistance from Dorian til now. It might take a while. The govt employees a substantial percentage of the population, that would be a very serious thing if public servants stop spending money.

I think the help people need is relief from mortgage and loan debt, so maybe we need to direct this heat at banks and money lenders, cause i mean lets be real social assistance can only go so far, the aim is to give everyone a little something, not pay our mortgages, loans, bills.

Right, it seems like it is working. But you know everyone will not be happy. Despite seeming to want to continue with this story that people only going to the foodstore, the bank and to pay bills... "ok".... lockdown is neccessary.

Yeah. Furthermore, we could be Corona free that's great. Until these cruises and airlines get the OK to go from their respective health regulators we will still be fiddling our thumbs. Further, you know these airlines and cruises coming with the request for tax breaks for landing and docking or whatever it is.

While I respect environmentalists position on some things and yes the cruise ships probably played us like a fiddle - however, what other industry where the corporation head sit outside the jurisdiction or region don't do that?

Covid has already killed the industry and the probably any projects they were gonna take on. The major lines have already reported that up to 55% of Passengers who were booked for the foreseeable future have opted to take their money back instead of putting it towards a trip after the all clear - with their offer of credit towards upgrades, etc.

So now that we have carried on for the past year about cruise ships this and who shouldn't do this and who shouldn't have that, who getting this and who getting that, well now its nothing to get and its no one will have anything! The country can now creep into clean, pristine stagnation.
