Well I’ve also never heard a white man being shaken down for money who can’t remember anyone or anything about the said incident when he was apparently shaken down. Before you start with the maybe he scared, he doesn’t live here.
Or it could be that a large number of persons were undocumented migrants and persons who may be able to identify them are unwillingly to put themselves at risk if they too are undocumented or questionable status or Bahamian employers who are unwilling to identify these bodies.
I dont have a problem with his assessment of the the general workforce. When the man from RBC Bahamas said these things a few years ago, with the additional observation that we are entitled, we ran him out the country. Now, when Bahamians read it will they acknowledge, adapt or be motivated to do better? No they will suck their teeth, say this our country, strike and demand more and more money for the same minimum wage job they were doing for 15 years, play numbers and continue to be ignorant and jealous of others. They will continue to count other people's money and make up lies about how they got it, they will do nothing but same thing they do everyday. Our children will continue to value materialism and wealth with no work ethic and over sexualization.
This is interesting to see Bahamians persepctive on marijuana, all while we will watch our friends and family getdrunk as a skunk and then help them into their cars to drive home alone all year round. All the while we block up the road to get kentucky and bamboo shack and then demand free hypertension and diabetes medication from the state.
The masses, ordinary Bahamians, dont care about the environment and are to short sighted and content with ignorance. I was disturbed to watch on the news, and hear Bahamians around town, complaining that they have to pay a quarter for a thin plastic bag... why? Why? Why? Go buy a reusable bag. We refuse to think.
My only thing is why is are these men acting like Freeport had so much airlift before Dorian, further any tourist who were coming were probably staying at pelican anyway, second home owners or at air bnb, and when grand lucayan was open was anyone leaving the resort anyway to spend money, cruise ship passengers ain’t spending no money? if we call Dr Manhattan to drop an airport down from Mars, where are these tourist going to be spending there money, not in community, on these hotel properties. I hope local businesses stay woke, this man trying get his profits up before he have to compete again with air bnb and grand lucayan
