Hubert Minnis has made so many political misjudgments over the last four years that I don't know where to begin. Hubert Ingraham on the other hand had a nose for leadership and politics. Like all of us, he had his weaknesses but his contribution to the FNM and the country was immense. Minnis has made a huge error of judgment in not trying to embrace the former Prime Minister. Both he and the party could have benefited so much from his wise counsel. The window of opportunity for saving the FNM from complete oblivion is almost at an end. Minnis has proved to be completely incapable of leading the FNM. He has demonstrated to all and sundry that he lacks political awareness, makes poor judgment calls, doesn't understand the concept of team building and can't think on his feet when his political enemies are there for the taking. These are not the characteristics of a future Prime Minister. Resign now Dr. Minnis for the sake of The Bahamas. Our county's survival is more important than your personal ambitions.
"The overall feeling is that he should step down and the party would then be turned over to the care of Turnquest with the understanding of an early convention. That is what the rank and file want."
Dr. Minnis, your time is up. You will never be a politician, far less a Prime Minister, no matter how hard you try. You are simply not cut out for the job. No shame in that. Go back to the medical profession where you are surely more suited. A united FNM led by a strong leader with genuine political awareness is what the country is crying out for. For the love of The Bahamas resign your post and give your party a chance to mount a credible challenge to the PLP next May. I can't believe that you are so self obsessed and delusional that you would allow Christie and his "made men" another five year term in which to finish off The Bahamas for good?
"Dr Sands said the big question now is whether the government will delay the plan long enough to arrive at a quality programme for Bahamians or push forward and use NHI as a political tool."
The PLP never does anything simply for the good of the country. The "yellow Mafia" will push on with NHI if there is any chance it can implement a first phase before May 2017. Fortunately, the government is so incompetent that even that window is far too narrow for it.
"Bidders will be free to conduct their own investigations and analysis, apart from the restrictions on speaking to Mr Izmirlian and/or CCA. Any disputes will be heard in the Bahamian courts."
ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha......wait.....ha,ha,ha, ha,ha........OMG splittin my sides....ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.
The Chinese are not remotely interested in doing a deal on Baha Mar as anyone can see from this nonsense. For as long as the Bank keeps the property on its books at full value, no one has to "carry the can". For this reason, there will be no quick sale.
There was a chance to create something big in Nassau. Unfortunately, government and the Chinese colluded to destroy the dream. The empty towers of Baha Mar now stand as a National embarrassment. The PLP couldn't run a corner shop.
