Mitchell made a complete idiot of himself in the House yesterday. He is probably the only one who can't see how foolishly he behaved. Something must have happened in Mitchell's upbringing that causes him to be unable to accept personal criticism in any shape or form. He comes across as a vindictive and hyper sensitive individual. He is someone who must never be allowed to ascend to the position of "Supreme Leader" of the PLP Mafia as he possesses many of the personality traits of a certain Robert Mugabe. As to his department's treatment of the two Cubans, what the heck are they trying to cover up? The one thing you rarely get from the PLP is the truth and I doubt we will get it in this case either.

You can just imagine Mitchell in full military garb with a plethora of medals speaking to his adoring masses. This man would end up another Colonel Gadaffi if given half a chance.

On Minnis ‘lacks support of white Bahamians’

The government, Mr Pinder said, “is of the view that it doesn’t want employees to receive more than their base salary.”

NIB sick pay is not supposed to supplement base pay but is intended to cover individuals for loss of income while sick and unable to work. Then Pinder tries to blame the doctors for writing sick lines!! This man needs to be retired.

The Chinese Bank will be prepared to sit on this asset for a long while because until it is sold it remains on the bank's books at full value. As soon as the asset is sold off for a substantially reduced price the loss becomes real to the bank and bank executives will have to explain themselves. Therefore EXIM bank is in no hurry to sell and the suggested full opening date of Winter 2017 is very optimistic in my view. BahaMar is going to be a part of Perry Christie (and the PLP's) legacy for all the wrong reasons. All right thinking Bahamians should be livid at government's mishandling of this project and its pathetic attempt to make the developer look like the bad guy. The Bahamian people have been robbed of what could have been one of the jewel's in our crown.

Birdiestrachan - the PLP apologist and the font of all knowledge concerning BahaMar! Get a life!

Whether you rate LBT or not it was disgraceful that the FNM held an Executive meeting in her constituency without informing her. How conniving and stupid is that? Minnis is clearly not an astute politician. He couldn't see a banana skin if you dangled it right in front of his nose. And this man wants to lead the country? Jeeeesus! Rollins is nothing but a political opportunist and it is depressing to see Minnis bending over backwards to try and accommodate him. Week by week the FNM is losing credibility. What a tragedy for The Bahamas. As the Randy Van Warmer song goes..."You left me....just when I needed you most".

The empty twin towers of BahaMar will remain a monument to the PLP god of greed. Christie and his band were not interested in exercising due diligence when it came to the Chinese. Why would that be I wonder? Izzy was the fall guy but the Bahamian people have lost the most. Every honest Bahamian should be disgusted at what has been allowed to happen.

All employed persons will be paying for NHI whether they elect to register for it or not. The working class will pay for it in the form of higher NIB contributions.

On Gov’t makes NHI ‘non-mandatory’

"A major change in the draft legislation is that signing on to NHI will no longer be mandatory. Eligible people would be able to decide whether they want to be a part of the scheme once it is fully implemented."

Well at least they got something right...at last!!! So let's face it, everyone with private medical insurance is going to opt out of NHI. This means that government can focus on those with no access to private health insurance. Over the next three to five years, whichever Party is in power, needs to work at improving the public medical facilities and resources throughout The Bahamas so that eventually individuals have a genuine choice to make in terms of staying private or opting for NHI. How these improvements are funded is up to government but why not start with a National Lottery with the profits going to NHI? It should not always be about increasing NIB/Taxes.
