I agree with almost everything you say Banker except that I believe BahaMar will eventually open but it will be a while before it breaks even far less makes a profit. Will BahaMar survive is a big question? Someone else posted that the money would have been better spent developing the family islands - couldn't agree more. Family islands such as Abaco are ripe for development and would offer real competition to the upcoming threat of Cuba.

Nationalising a failed BahaMar would most certainly NOT be a solution.

ikalikl - thank you for those two insightful and sensible posts. There is hope for the country yet! What I cannot understand is why so many "intelligent" Bahamians were duped three years ago into thinking the PLP could behave like a responsible political party. It's like asking a dog to behave like a cat! The PLP is what it is - a party that looks after its friends at the expense of the country at large. We do need young, fearless and upright leaders to step forward on the platform you suggest. They should form a new party which Bran, Rollins, Moss et al should join.

Poor show by CIBC First Caribbean. A customer should not have to go through this amount of stress.

It would be so refreshing to report something positive from this administration but unfortunately I think it is a forlorn hope. Calling for a report on why a report was withheld is typical PLP stalling tactics. The AG must surely now be embarrassed by what she is having to do on behalf of her Party? The people of Marathon deserve better than this. So people of Marathon you know what to do come 2017.

Rollins is going to be a lingering thorn in the side for the final two years of this mis-administration.

Adrian has done well to articulate this administration's failings and he didn't even mention the gambling referendum fiasco or the disgraceful behavior of the AG's office in sitting on numerous reports that should have been acted upon with haste. I shudder to think what further damage will be inflicted on Bahamians by the PLP during the remaining two years of their tenure. I suppose their one remaining shambles in waiting will be NHI.

Well written and no doubt thoroughly researched article by Larry Smith. This government has absolutely no shame. What amazes me is that even now there are many blinkered, and even educated misguided fools, who will still vote PLP at the next election because the PLP is their party and the Party has always looked after them and their family before them. Don't they realize that this is precisely the mentality that led Zimbabwe into the mess it is in today? Is that the direction they want Bahamas to go?
