It is clear that some serious re-structuring of the event needs to take place. The groups have become too large and the lead pieces too large and cumbersome to move through Bay Street. The public is no longer confident that parades will start on time and hence the huge spaces on the bleachers for the New Year's Day parade. Why spend $50 dollars or more on a ticket when you can turn up at 7.30 and see the Valley and One Family starting their first lap for free? We left at 7 am having saw only the Saxons and Roots - a complete disappointment. I won't be attending again any time soon unless the product can be guaranteed. Worst Junkanoo for many a year.
Why was this man not confined to his house / yard under the conditions of the ankle bracelet? Who is responsible for this nonsense? The Courts or the Commissioner of Police? Is there a deliberate policy of allowing these individuals to wander freely around Nassau in the knowledge that they will almost certainly be killed? Is this part of a strategy to reduce the burden on the courts?
A depressing end to a depressing year but, hey, things are about to get a whole lot better in 2015 according to our esteemed leader. Does anyone share his optimism? I mean anyone who is not a regular weed smoker?
$300,000 is a drop in the ocean compared to what has been plundered since. It would be pointless investigating one incident without looking at the bigger picture. Of course, this won't happen because the political elite has the country stitched up.
Perhaps we should put this new murder record on a billboard on every roundabout like the PLP were so eager to do in the run up to the last election? This government has no clue what to do about serious crime in this country and Christie has the nerve to say that the next election will be all about crime!!! What is he doing NOW to fight crime?
