Well that's a relief! Crime wave over folks - it's safe to come out of your homes!!!
"Still, ACP Dean cautioned the public to exercise caution as they conduct their personal affairs at this time of year, which he said includes checking one’s surroundings, alternating travelling routes and remaining vigilant while parking in various parking lots."
Failing that, employ a "rear gunner" as you drive around this God forsaken island. Basically stay indoors this holiday season, barricade yourself in with plenty of ammo. Oh, and have a very merry Christmas!
Another march is fine, a strike would be counter productive. The people have suffered enough and no need to add to that suffering. In six months' time everyone will have a chance to punish this government - at the ballot box.
"There are a handful of prolific offenders who continue to cause problems for the community"
I would suggest that we are dealing with much more than "a handful" of offenders. If it were so few then the problem would surely be easy to deal with. The government MUST find a way of stopping serious criminals from being released on bail and terrorizing innocent civilians. How long have both main parties been wrestling with this? Why can't the bail laws be tightened up? If judges are under pressure to offer bail because of prison overcrowding then increase the size of the prison!. Just get these punks off of our streets. Scrapping this stupid Junkanoo Carnival would contribute $10 million or so to the project for starters.
We have to take our hats off to the police - they really do take their life in their hands every day working in the killing fields of New Providence. Our brave policemen and women are being let down however by a government and a judiciary that allows too many of these serious offenders free to roam the streets. I would like to hear what the FNM and DNA would do about this specific problem should they find themselves in power next May? What exactly would Minnis and McCartney do to remove these vermin from our streets and make ordinary hard working citizens feel safe again?
Ryan Pinder negotiating with the Bahamian government on behalf of the Chinese. You have to laugh. They just don't care about conflicts of interest do they?
Greentea - it is impossible for ANYONE to be worse than Christie and the PLP. Priority number one HAS to be getting rid of this criminal enterprise masquerading as a political party. The FNM as dysfunctional as they are, are the Nation's best bet for ousting China PLP. Now the second priority I would suggest will be to replace Minnis as leader of the FNM and Prime Minister. This will likely happen given the quality of some of the candidates likely to follow Minnis into the HOA. It is one step at a time however and first we have just got to get rid of the yellow peril, by whatever means.
We are truly a third world nation when our politically appointed Attorney General can lower herself to drop charges on two persons who raided the home of the Deputy Prime Minister without offering an explanation to the public. Just another example of the outstanding level of arrogance shown by this political party. Also, dare I ask when the PUBLIC might get to see the report on the Rubis spill? Not holding my breath for an answer!
