The seven must lose their FNM ticket if Minnis prevails with the FNM. If LBT is to become one with Bran then would it be under the DNA banner? But then it is hard to see Bran stepping aside from his own party leadership to allow that to happen. Do they have time to create a new United Opposition party? Probably not. If however, the FNM decide that Minnis must go then Bran would have a pathway back to the FNM under LBT. That would surely be the best outcome for the country. LBT then would have a couple of years to impress (or not) as Prime Minister before the next FNM convention. It seems to me that Minnis stepping aside would be best for everyone.

What an absolute farce! The FNM is determined to destroy the last remnants of its former self. What a tragedy for the party and for the country at a time when Bahamians desperately need an alternative to the corrupt Christie led, Chinese sponsored PLP. I believe the FNM under Hubert Minnis is a "busted flush". The brand image has gone with the Party scarcely resembling the FNM of Hubert Ingraham. As it stands the FNM is frankly unelectable and strong candidates like Lloyd, D'Aguilar and Dames must be wondering about their reputations by association with this train wreck of a party. In any first world democracy a party leader facing such lack of confidence and outright rebellion would do the honourable thing and resign for the greater good of the party and the country. Why does Hubert Minnis stubbornly cling to his post against a wave of discontent? Why does he not see that he can best serve the Bahamas by stepping aside and allowing someone with the necessary skill set to unite the fragments of this broken organisation?

The "magnificent seven" need to form their own party or join with the DNA. One thing we know about Hubert Minnis is that he treats the FNM leadership like a "dog to a bone". He will not give it up. His stooges have elected him as Party Leader and Party Leader he will stay right through to the general election. The big money is not going to back him and so the money men are probably behind this petition. Therefore, if HM won't walk away then those who oppose him must themselves walk away and form their own party or coalition.

Who are you kidding Tal? Buckingham Palace could care less what's happening in this God forsaken little place.

Honestman says...

The Governor General is a PLP. Remember that. Also bear in mind that the PLP wants Minnis to remain as leader of the FNM 'cause Perry and his motley crew know that they have a chance next May with him in charge of a fractured party. Therefore, the PLP will be working hard to find a way whereby the GC can reject this petition. the plp will not allow minnis to be sacked if they can help it!

Honestman says...

just2cents, it is imperative that Bahamians place their X against someone other than the PLP candidate. If Mickey Mouse is the opposing candidate then you vote for him. You vote for ANYONE who is not part of this criminal organization. Refusing to vote just plays into the hands of these gangsters and will result in The Bahamas becoming a failed State. This is our last chance to save the country.

Like a battered wife, Bahamians seemed resigned to their fate. It doesn't have to be like this however. We are free to eject these serial abusers that pretend to care for us.
