Tal, you are trying hard to spin your PLP propaganda but it doesn't matter if it was one thousand or twenty thousand. This was the biggest protest march in New Providence this century. Many people were working and couldn't join in but those same people will find it easier to place a X on the ballot paper come election day. You and your other PLP apologists may scoff at the numbers but Christie and his corrupt government know the game is up.
Change will come in May 2017 of that we can be sure. This was only a foretaste. Hard for many people to get off work today to come and protest but it won't be as difficult on polling day. China PLP's days are numbered.
If the People are really energized they can bring the country to a standstill through peaceful demonstration and force the government into an early general election. It's that simple.
Now that they know they are going down, they will call the election on the last day of the last month. Over the next six months, they will spend the People's money like there is no tomorrow, awarding contracts to friends and family. They know that this will be their last opportunity to enrich themselves and so they will go for broke. The new government will have to deal with their treasonous acts over the last five years and it will take a while to sort out. I hope the public realise that things will have to get worse before they get better. The new government is going to have a herculean task ahead of it in turning this country around. This PLP administration has set us back 20 years! People are going to have to appreciate this fact and give the new government time to sort out the mess. God help us.
Mitchell is an arrogant s.o.b. This is the beginning of the end for the criminal fraternity that is the PLP. He knows it - the tide of popular anger is coming like a Tsunami. Christie and the PLP will be decimated at the polls next year. Enjoy your last few months in power Mitchell because very soon you and your party will be consigned to the dustbin of history.
Christie just does not get it. The time for talking is well past. This demonstration today is about Bahamians proving to ourselves that we have the power! We have allowed corrupt politicians to rob and pillage not just our assets but our children's future. We have allowed them to feel comfortable that they can get away with doing what they like without having to be accountable to the people who elected them. We have allowed politicians to treat us with contempt. To them, we are only the dumb electorate who will put up with all the abuse they inflict on us because we don't know any better. Today must be the day that we shake them out of their comfort zone. March together Bahamaland. we, the people, have the power..
"Is there enough time on the political clock for the government to fix the things that remain broken, do things that remain undone and to satisfy persons that are displeased?
