It's all about grabbing power. Neither the PLP nor the FNM have been responsible in government. In this stage of the country's history we should have had a robust hurricane fund in place. We should have had a Financial Disclosure Act, a Fiscal Responsibility Act and a Freedom of Information Act. These are the pieces of legislation that underpin a mature and healthy democracy. Instead of that we have a political system that is rotten to the core, full of greedy and unscrupulous politicians whose only aim is to look after themselves and their own. Hey, in the Bahamas you can go from being a modestly paid Union leader to a multi millionaire cabinet minister with a large property in a rich gated community out West. This is the prize for selling your soul and your people.

It is so desperately sad that much of this borrowed money will never reach those that really need it. Bahamian politics stinks to high heaven.

Equally there are many reports of contractors trying to rip off insurers by submitting grossly inflated repair estimates.

Christie and his cohorts have already made their decision. They each have their thirty pieces of silver. Christie wanted a legacy and he has it: The Prime Minister who sold his country to the Chinese.

Perry Christie and his government have handed the resort to the Chinese on a plate. China has no intention of entertaining a bid from Sarkis and he knows that. The property will stay under Chinese ownership as part of their strategic plan to acquire economic control of The Bahamas. Our hapless and corrupt government were such easy prey for the Chinese. Christie and Maynard Gibson made such a huge play about maintaining Bahamian sovereignty over the whole affair. What an absolute joke!

Spot on Banker. Sarkis knows he has no chance of getting Baha Mar back and so he can make such an offer safe in the knowledge that it will never be accepted. The PLP / Chinese stich up is complete. End result: China 1 Bahamian people 0

I have no problem with that whatsoever.
