Tell that to the gentleman standing in line who looks like he's about 70! And the countless others who have no access to the internet, who are paying cash. Plus BPL cashless system is rarely working, when I was home I was always pissed that I was unable to pay bills online or set up a direct debit.

I'm living in the UK and we were not given notice of the lockdown, it was reported the evening before that the government will have to take measure to lock the country down. This virus is spreading so rapidly and killing so many people, countries are having to respond at a rapid pace just to keep up. So, in the beginning, it was impossible to give a week or even two weeks notice.

I don't understand why people are complaining about being stuck outside The Bahamas. There are thousands of Brits stuck in Italy and France due to being on Holiday when borders were shut. They're enjoying the extended Holiday and communicating with friends and family back home via social media. Ms Rolle has food and shelter! All she has to do si stay safe on top of that, she's travelling from a hot spot. Asian! Anyone travelling from those areas was asked to self-isolate for 14 days if you are not showing symptoms and 7 days if you are! Judging from this she has not taken those measures.

Ok, this makes no sense to me. Each item has a bar code which is how they are scanned at the til. If the item is not scanned it goes off at the door, unless there's no security system at that door, which I do believe there is because I've had an item go off before. So how is it people are allowed to pushcart full of groceries out the store? And how in the world that much theft could've happened between the time the plastic bag ban was implemented to now?

"Mr Roberts said incidents like this, which have occurred “frequently” recently, have contributed to the food store chain’s stock shortages increasing from one to six percent since the plastic ban took effect on January 1."

What is ith with Bahamians and money? Is there NO credibility in our country? From the politicians to the so-called charity groups. This sheds a bad light on the country as a whole. Anyone will have misgivings to help in times of disaster.

How it go? When you vote for CLOWNS, you get a circus. They always come up with these asinine solutions when they don't have a clue what to do. SMT

What goes around comes around. Now, wait til they start the real crackdown on and ship all of those who overstayed and got straight years after. I have family members who went over on the contract, never came back but got citizenship years later. Fast forward to 90s, plenty people I went to college with, remain in the US after graduating, living /working under the radar, again applied for citizenship years later and got it. The fact remains, they overstayed, so at some point they were there illegally but got straight eventually, something that you will never see in the Bahamas. Why? Because Bahamas for Bahamians! Forward to 2000s, plenty Bahamians travelling under false pretences, shopping, only to give birth in the US so their kids could get citizenship.

Like I say, what goes around comes around hey?

Mr Hardy also taught English Language at North Andros High School. He was an excellent educator and I was fortunate enough to have him throughout my high school years. Condolences to his family. May he R.I.P

So true. I caught the last end of O'Levels in High School after my class took it. O'Levels were dropped. Fingers are being pointed in every direction except the government. I think the educational system in the country needs to be reevaluated.

This is what happens when contracts are awarded to friends, lovers and sweetheart. I grew up on the island and those are not checked or maintained. Hope all these kids are ok.

JackArawak I can identify with that, they make everything flipping complicated in The Bahamas. In Europe, I got my residency card in the mail. WEnt to the post office, took a passport size photo, sent in my application with my Bahamian passport via registered post, 48hrs later got confirmation of receipt. 2weeks after that, letter saying my application is being processed and I have the right to work, claim benefits (health care etc). Driver's licence took less time than that, I got a provisional, in 5 working days because they don't exchange your Bahamians licence, filled in the application online, took a photo with my phone, paid online and submitted. The Bahamas not only backward in thinking but also in the way it's ran.
