if we want to benefit from cannabis tourism, we will need to legalize before Florida. Other than that the industry will be relatively small, local consumption alone will not make anyone rich. Exports will face stiff competition. Exports of ''Bahamian grown craft weed" will be relatively miniscule as well. We should have legalized at least 5 years ago.....but it will be a minimum of 5 more years while our esteemed scientists study the issue. If it happens at all. I'm 100% convinced Minnis is going to use this as an election issue, carrot on a stick style.
I once went to the administrators office in Abaco and there was no one at the reception desk. Five minutes later a young lady emerged wearing fuzzy bedroom slippers and sucking on a chicken bone. That isn't ignorance, just a complete lack of regard. Our islands are beautiful, but the majority of the people are living in a weird dream state created by LOP
A lot of uniformed people out there. The same people who believe you'll be "tossed in a lake of fire and burn forever''.....can't take them too seriously. Legalizing will not create a rush of new smokers, people who want to smoke already do so. Colorado has been legal for 5 years now, society is fine, millions in taxes have been raised and teen use is down.
I really don't need the church to tell me how to live my life. I don't need the government either. A God given creation is mine for the taking. The Bahamas is missing out on millions of dollars in revenue and hundreds or perhaps even thousands of jobs. Like everything else in the government, we are about 40 years behind the curve.
Several check points on all key roads and intersections would be a low manpower’ high return investment by Dames. Quick deployment. Camping on spot. Small units of Marines could secure the movement of all road traffic. That’s security 101. And that’s the failing Bahamian government in a nutshell.
