Fantastic Chris. I hope you are successful and do well. Treat your employees and customers with respect. Number one rule in life is “do unto others”. Please forgive those that wouldn’t rent to you (you can laugh at them silently now).
I had to go to the PHM ER about 18 months ago. Within 5 minutes I felt sorry for the staff, the place is a shithole. I sat for 6 hours, couldn't even get a drink of water, was never seen by a staff member except to get me name. I left and got care elsewhere. Next time I have an emergency my family has strict instructions to let me die in Abaco before they send me back to PHM.
As long as the government has any kind of influence, you will always get poor service. Just look at BPL.
generation is great and all but don't forget the glued together distribution system. Power outages in the Abaco cays are often the result of the distribution rather than the generation.
two things about BEC / BPL....(1) terrible performance for years and years now (2) the government is involved. When the government gets out and it's being run privately, you'll most likely see two things, (1) better service to it's customers and (2) there will most likely be lower income folks who can't pay their bill and the government will have to subsidize them. Either way, it's long overdue for the government to shed itself of the SOE's like Bahamas Air etc
LOL, their first mistake was to believe that the government would actually do something that doesn't involve expensive suits, first class airfare and a posse
the utility infrastructure for Harbour Island and North Eleuthera has failed to keep pace with the area’s rapid development,
Same thing in Abaco brother. Govt loves the development but they can't manage the infrastructure. No vision, no planning, no maintenance, just expensive suits and international trips with 45 family members. And no, the local people aren't allowed to do anything, Nassau knows better.
I’m sure Bimini needs it. And while you’re at it Clay, send some money in John’s direction. His h home island needs roadworks too. You guys are collecting big tax off of Elbow Cay and we get a couple cups of rice and a cup of Wesson oil.
