Most don’t even know they have it ) but yes they can still spread it and they do), others become mildly I’ll and few end up in hospital. But great to know the Stadium and nursing school and national stadium is being prepared, just in case. After all, no one knows what comes after the Omicron wave.

Again the symptoms of Omicron variants are the same for vaccinated, unvaccinated and those who have taken booster shots. my opinion is if you tested positive for Omicron and recover then go get vaccinated or take booster shots, you are an id.. I mean you are being counterproductive. According to experts, the Omicron strains ‘bind’ the vaccines and other strains of Covid-19 and then establishes its own immunity, making a person naturally immune to all other strains of Covid 19. What more protection can you ask for?

PS why do groups of three and four and five people need to shop in the food store? And even in other stores? And the entourage usually involves several children. At least Brave Davis and/Michael Darville can appear to do something and restrict the number of persons entering stores in a group. Children need to be excluded from food stores completely. And even the packing girls/boys need to be taught safety protocols which should include social distancing, even from each other, and hand sanitizer after each customer. Yesterday the world recorded its greatest, one day, spike in new Covid-19 cases in the two year history of the virus. This is despite the US giving out free home test kits that may cause the actual number of new reported cases to be less that the real number of cases. The US recorded the highest number of new cases, followed by the United Kingdom, then France. Russia, whilst only reported 25,000 new cases, reported the highest numbers of deaths yesterday. Over 1,000 deaths. BUT over a week ago South Africa also recorded and reported its highest single, one day in new cases. It was the first country to experience a full wave of the Omicron strain. Then after the cases started to come down. Very rapidly. Well except for yesterday when the numbers of new cases in South Africa increased by some ten thousand. So now everyone has the wait and see approach as to what will happen next.

A former Minister of National Security said that the general public should feel safe as most of the crime was about one set of bad boys ( gangs) warring with another set. These sentiments were echoed be the top brass of the police force. Today the target of crime is the general public and no one is excluded. Sadly so. And a lot of what is happening is not making the news. Maids are being assaulted and robbed on their way to work and so are gardeners. How much money will these people have on their person, going to or coming from work? And vehicles are being broken into or parts are being stolen lie nobody’s business. And now these heinous murders of senior citizens. Regardless of the motive. The question then is what plans do Brave Davis, Wayne Munroe Paul Rolle and others responsible have to bring this new crime wave under control. Many were sickened and outraged after viewing a video of a recent robbery, where one of the culprits slapped his victim around and manhandled her in other ways. And the question must be raised, how much of a threat does a 70 year old man pose to a robber that was obviously armed. So much so that the victim had to be shot in the head? Let’s take the PM’s word that none of the country’s resources will be spared in solving this crime, and hopefully,all the others like it that left families in shock and grieving. Condolences.

The current government (Bahamas) has unfortunately lost control of the safety protocols that kept the numbers down. Check the malls and food stores. Not only overcrowded, but loaded with children. And the social gatherings. Hard to police but some people are going to three, four, five functions in the same night. Understandably they don’t want to spoil Christmas, but the consequences of going from full lockdown to carelessly, wide open. And remember some will have no symptoms with the Omicron. Guess the thinking is ‘get it over with and get it done.’ Must watch South Africa to see what happens after Omicron. Currently the numbers of new infections continue to decline.

Why is the US Media misleading the public and blatantly telling people the complete opposite of what data is showing and science is proving with the Omicron variant? The scientists who have experienced the strain are saying the symptoms for the Omicron are the same for everyone regardless of their level of vaccination but US media is telling unvaccinated people to get vaccinated and vaccinated people to get booster shots’ to ensure you do not get seriously I’ll during the holidays or even end up dying from the disease’.’ Where is the science to support this? On the one hand they are admitting the Omicron is now the dominant strain in the US, moving from 3 percent of infections last week to 73 % currently. Where is the mass hospitalizations and deaths that are due to Omicron? Now they are claiming that there will be a lag between infections and hospitalizations and deaths. A lag of several weeks they say, But the science days people infected with Omicron recover in 2-3 days compared to 8 days plus when suffering from other strains. In fact CDC and other agencies are saying persons testing for Omicron only need to isolate for 5 days compared to 24 days if they test positive for Delta or other strains. Can you really trust these people?

Information is that antibodies in the Omicron variant identifies the vaccines in a patient’s body as foreign or infections, simply put, the virus then ‘binds’ the vaccines, making them ineffective. Omicron then establishes its own immunity in the patient that also overrides the patient’s own immunity, making them resistant to other strains of the Covid-19 virus. Thus far, the curve for Omicron has been very peaked. Meaning the virus is highly infectious but rapidly moving. Originally medical experts wanted to flatten the curve to sto medical facilities from being overwhelmed. But since omicron requires less and shorter hospitalizations, this is a nonissue.

The WHO and CDC took to the news media over the past few weeks and advised people to discontinue taking the Johnson and Johnson vaccines. This was based on recent studies that shows blood clots related to the J & J vaccines were increasing, especially among young women. Prior to this, information was being put out that the J & J was not as effective as the other vaccines and also wears off faster. Patients were advised to take the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines as a second dose if they had already taken the first shot, And patients were also advised that if they had taken the J&J more than 10 days ago, they were at minimum risk for developing blood clots but should take another brand of vaccine as a second dose. These blood clots have the potential or reaching the brain and causing death.

Casinos are proven not to be that particular magnet at this time. And if Freeport is not rebuilt and revitalized, the cruise will eventually pull out again. Bay Street also needs a new lifeline. That will compliment the Ports ReDevelopment. Some talks are that Bay Street will be realigned with major businesses facing the waterfront, and a broad walk constructed from The Bridge in the East to The Pointe in the West. And Condos, Townhomes and upper class apartments will be added to prevent downtown from dying at 5:00 pm
