Our leaders are mere puppets who allow all these foreign agencies to come in this country and declare war on a segment of the society. They have no clue as to their intentions or the history of their operations. And hence young men continue to die. So who is the real enemy?
This is another poor example of The Tribune and/or the author of this piece of crap attempting to put oil on a rusty chain, rather than doing some real and earnest investigative journalism and telling the Bahamian people why their young men are being slaughtered. Not only here in The Bahamas and The United States, but throughout the Caribbean. You cannot even discuss gangs and gangsters and gang activity unless you involve names like J Edgar Hoover, who headed the CIA for 48 years and under the presidency o ( though short lived), declared, ‘war on Black people.’ Saying their unity and economic empowerment was a threat to the rest of the world. Talk about the’ war on drugs’, and explain how it was actually a ‘war on young Black (and Hispanic men) sending many of them to jail fir long periods and making them unemployable and considered ‘undesirables’ in their community and even today looked on as savages, ready to pounce in a flash. But who was it that stormed the White House with blood in their eyes. Tell them that Gangland warfare is an extension of America’s ‘war on drugs’ dating all the way back to the 1980’s when residents in Black neighborhoods would wake up and find train cars loaded with weapons and ammunition on their doorsteps. Don’t we see the same thing happening here where high powered weapons are showing up on the streets and in the hands of gangsters? Who bringing them in the country.? Who want the young Black men dead and have them warring with each other? Where are the hundreds of high powered weapons including AK 47’s that disappeared from the American agency that claimed they were tracking the sale of illegal weapons in the Caribbean and Central America? An agency that has an almost $1 Billion budget with no specific task, except. To wreak havoc on otherwise peaceful Caribbean communities. J Edgar Hoover believed a prophet (messiah who some claim visited the earth in the 1990’s) was coming to the Black people. And so he spent most of his 48 years as head of the CIA, trailing and harassing Black leaders, jailing them, destroying their organizations and some may even have been killed under his watch. So if you want to know about gangsters and gang land in this country. Start at the source.
The US numbers for new Covid-19 cases has plunged by over 70 percent since Joe Biden took office and required people to wear masks in federal buildings and in public. Masks and social distancing and crowd Control seems to be the most effective weapons in the fight against this corona Virus. The true effects of the vaccines are still up for debate.
And in the main time, AID boasts About its massive expansion program where it is adding at least two new stores and increasing staff almost two-fold. The diversity of our economy.
If the food stores ‘this dry’, imagine what other businesses may be feeling. Apparently the NIB money has dried up and people are pinching on their last dollars. But hopefully something will break in the next few weeks to cause a spur in the economy. The US and worldwide numbers continue to fall drastically and should be no reason why Covid-19 doesn’t disappear completely by summer 2021. And things will slowly get back to normal.
By the end of March and definitely by summer, this Covid-19 virus will have dried up and disappeared. The cruise ships do not plan to return before summer, but I miss some crab legs from Red Lobster.
When we were in school, we were taught (or learnt) that there are at least two levels of English: One that you use everyday or informal, and two, formal English that is used at school, in the classroom, or when applying for a job, etc. And when you get caught in a situation you cannot express yourself clearly, you use the catch-phrase, 'you know wat I mean."
Should conflict resolution and gang-related violence and deaths and their effects on society now be introduced as part of the high school curriculum? It is time to teach the young men to 'unlearn' this cruel and destructive behavior.
