Reports are that the Super Corona strain has reached several parts of the US, including Florida, so it’s just a matter of time before it shows up here. And what will be the consequences? More deaths and over loaded medical facilities and overtaxed medical staff? Or will there be sufficient preparation and forward planning to minimize the effects of this strain in the country? And with some 30 different vaccines soon to be on the market tor Covid-19 there is still uncertainty about these vaccines being effective against this strain. Then there is a report that a group of individuals were given shots of an experimental drug instead of the corona vaccine. And that this drug is supposed to be administered intravenously and not as a vaccine. How can a clinic make such a big mistake? And further claims are that since the experimental drug is not a substitute for the corona vaccine, the vaccine will have to be administered at an appropriate time. Was this really a mistake? Doesn’t this put even more doubt in the minds of the people who are already skeptical about taking the vaccine?

Seems like 2021 will be a continuation of 2020. In many ways.

Four Hundred years of abuse and conditioning. Under slavery, where God or marriage or families did not matter. The slave master always had his way. He can come in the middle of the night, rape and assault a married woman in the front of her children in the middle of the night. He could beat and torture the men and fighting back would mean certain death or even more punishment and he could also rape underage girls and force them to ‘breed.’ And massa could also break-up and separate families at will, selling them off like cattle to other plantations. In fact ‘buc’ slaves were loaned or rented to other slave massa’s to breed or even to do manly chores in massas own bedroom. Did the marriage and matrimonial bed matter there? And many were carted away not knowing what they left behind. A son, a daughter, twins even. Not even hearing the painful screams of a woman in childbirth. Theirs even. And all, all of this was done under and with the blessings of the God we serve. Is this really ‘Amen?’

Reports are that the newly mutated strain of the Corona virus, that is said to be more contagious and more deadly, has shown up in the United States as well as South Africa.. However the press cannot always be trusted to be accurate as, on several occasions, they have reported mass outbreaks of COVID-19 in China and these reports were proven to be false. China seems to be doing a better job than most countries in containing the virus and keeping infected people out of its borders. But what will happen if the new strain is, in fact, in the United States? Their health system is already overburdened and some states are reporting a death from Corona every 15 minutes. Can America deal with a strain that spreads more rapidly and causes even more deaths? And the concern is whether or not the vaccines that have been approved will be effective against this new stain. And what steps are The Bahamas taking to keep this new strain out the country and to manage it, should it manage to penetrate the borders. More full lockdowns and increased curfews will be economic suicide as even the most well funded businesses will be challenged and government itself may dig a hole too deep for itself. Hopefully the Corona numbers will remain low and herd immunity will be effective.
