Even if the commissioner still beanstalk to arrest persons found with marijuana, he d instructions to his police officers can be simple: do not search a man’s pockets, do not search his wallet, do not search his shoes or his underwear, unless he is being detained and brought to the station on a particular matter that doesn’t involve a joint or small amount of marijuana found in either of the aforementioned places.
The WHO now confirms Covid-19 was loose and spreading around the world in the early fall of 2019. Months before it was discovered in China and that country started its battle with the disease. This may explain why the US death rate for 2020 is 30% higher than 2019, not including covid-19 related deaths.
If the world is in the third wave of this pandemic instead of the middle of the second wave, then the covid-19 numbers should soon start falling off, meaning that at least one third of the world’s population has been infected and herd immunity is active.
The War in Drugs was specifically designed to throw young, black men in jail, disrupt families and destroy communities.. the more of these men went to jail for small amounts for long periods of time, the less productive they became and more anti social. The same people who were responsible for sending people to jail were the same ones flooding Black communities with drugs. The cocaine epidemic was created to destroy lives and send people to jail. If governments spent half the funds in youth upliftment and developmental programs and rehabilitation as it spends on its police force, the drug problem and accompanying crime problem would be less than half what it is. Cigarettes and alcohol sales among young people are declining and big companies are jumping on the band wagon to commercialize marijuana. Meaning that , like cigarettes, they will add ingredients to it to make it more addictive. So that is why Barak Obama was more in favor of decrimilizing it rather than making recreational marijuana legal. States that did legalize it, first saw a spike in crime, as people from out-of—state relocated to take advantage of the new law. Then they saw a gradual, consistent decline as many of the drug dealers and turf wars disappeared.
He really sounded like a retard. Fully ignorant. If the world says marijuana is not a dangerous drug and it was only criminalized to put young, black men in jail and break up black families and this retard says ‘as long as it’s on the books, he will enforce the law for the smallest amounts.” A pure Uncle Tom. He should be encouraging his officers to do a quick frisk and discourage them doing these intimate searches that results in them getting corona. A brain dead commish. What is more important: an officer feeling up a guy in the middle of the street to find a joint stashed in his under or having a healthy officers show up to work the next day to deal with more serious crime ?
Expect to go another six months before the economy even starts to resemble some normalcy. Cab BPL hold out that long? Some landlords have tenants who haven't paid a full month's rent since march. Are they expected to continue to carry the burden of their tenants with the future being so distant and uncertain? Some also are paying for electricity and water on the rented property. It's a "between a rock and a hard place situation." Many businesses will not reopen after this pandemic passes. Some cannot open because all of their working capital has been consumed and their assets do not qualify them for additional borrowing. Couldn't we just take 2020 off the calendar?
Retailers cater to consumers require convenience. A contractor cannot wait for a shipment online when he can dispatch a truck and pick up 30 sheets of plywood and some nails to keep his workers occupied, And retailers thrive of compulsive buying. Do they get you into the store to buy a can of paint and you end up buying a dozen other items, most of them you don’t really need and some you don’t need at all.
The similarities with Minnis and Donald Trump are they are both being battled from within their parties. And their comments and missteps on the battle veith the Corona pandemic sometimes feel unforgivable. Minnis as a medical doctor made some careless and costly missteps. The worst being the premature reopening of the borders . And the denial of Bahamians beach access during peak summer months when it was the only outing to thousands of children who have been home (shut in ) since March and will probably not see any school opening until January or maybe March of 2021. Think of the psychological consequences.

People should not be going to jail because they have a drug problem. They should be going to rehab. The commissioner needs to be debriefed.
