Many suspect rogue police officers are involved in some of the many murders that occur in the country annually. Some police officers are also suspected to be gang members who use their day job ( police officers) to gather intelligence for their gangs. How many victims have been gunned down shortly being released from prison or whilst wearing a ankle monitering bracelet. Does the police gather intelligence on its own officers?

So Shell was selected as the preferred bidder but their role in the power plan is uncertain. So what exactly did they bid on and what exactly were they selected for ? So the debt reduction bond will be used to develop the new plant but BPL will be coming to the public to invest in its new plant (and upgrades). Two sets of financing for the same projects? There is a money hole somewhere because this ain’t adding up.

Least we forget. The police force had numerous editions of ‘death squads’ and ‘buses of pain.’ When the death squads went out, the persons they went in search off will usually not be brought back alive, and the kicker to the police report was that this person ‘Fred on police officers and put them in fear of their lives.’ And the greatest testament of this was under this same commissioner, when police raided a residence in the death of night and executed every male on the property. Some begged for their lives and others were still asleep and others were hiding when they were heartlessly murdered by police officers. Did these officers come to the police force with this type training and killer instinct. Then there was those ‘buses of pain’. Officers would arm themselves with golf clubs, baseball bats, lengths of 2x4’s. They would go to local bars on alcohol until they lost all sensibilities and sensitivity. Then they would drive up o any individual they see walking and , like Blacks in South Africa, the person had to give account for his presence. He was assaulted and abused and sometimes left with a broken arm or leg or internal bleeding even. The officers were just as ruthless when they stopped vehicles. Sometimes the driver would still be in uniform indicating he was going to or coming from work. Made no difference they would rip his car apart. Dash board back trunk pull out the seats and if the driver or any of the occupants flinched or uttered a word, they were mercilessly beaten. And then had to pretend an officer didn’t take their cap o sunglasses or even cash. So the commissioner got it wrong. It’s the police who taught the young men this rouge, violent and even deadly behavior the country is experiencing today.

This is merely a bag of hot air. Bahamasair serves this country in such a way, no real value can be placed on its services. The airline officials say clearly that they contracted a company to do the retrofitting but it was that company who didn’t perform. Some idiots seem to want to shut down everything that has Bahamas written on it or offers opportunities or services to local Bahamians. And they use every reason to build a case for it. How many Boeing jest have been grounded for almost a year now and the chances of them flying soon still remains uncertain? Should Boeing shut its doors? Even after its somewhat failed rocket launch? See how idiotic your reasoning sounds. And even though if something positive doesn’t happen soon for Boeing, financial challenges ay be forcing them to shutting their doors.

Government must revisit the mandatory retirement age for civil servants and especially those who hold key positions. The life expectancy has increased and many of these persons will live into their 80’s. This means many will be on fixed or retirement income for at least 20 years. Half the time they spent in civil service. Not only will they hit difficult financial times but unless they force Nd alternative employment this extended retirement will be emotionally taxing. And even if they are not allowed to stay on in their key roles, government should allow them to continue with the organization if only part time. This attitude of your have served your time , now get out attitude has to stop. It is counterproductive.

Did Marvin Dames mean the shot spotter detected 1,200 shots since its inception or for the year? If for the year that’s an average of four shots per day being detected and about 12.5 shots for every murder that has taken place. And if it sounds ridiculous, maybe because it is. One officer says that fireworks interfere with the system and creat false alarms. But to think 4 shots being fired a day is troubling.

What a Happy New Year, Merry Christmas message to give to your most senior staff during the festive holidays in front of a packed church. Imagine how the top brass of the police force must have enjoyed the remainder of the service then face their junior officers as they left the service. Lame Duck officers! My God have mercy.

All of the boys that were beaten, like runaway slaves, came forward and said they were NOT involved in any crime Or disorderly behavior at Junkanoo but they were beaten by police anyway. In fact one explained to the officers that beat him that he had just had hip surgery and should not be beaten. The officer struck him to the ground anyway with his fist then beat him across his hip with his night stick. And the beatings recorded on video were not the only ones. After the boys were beaten, they were told to run and as they did, they ran into another group of officers Who beat them again. One of the videos shows one of the boys being struck down to the ground and another cracked across his skull by police until blood spurts. Anyone who agrees with police acting like vicious, wild hogs, doesn’t have the interest of this country at heart. If they behave like this in public image what they do behind close doors. In fact one of the police officers allegedly told the boys after beating them ‘ Run, and if I see you again, I will take you for a ride and make you disappear!’ Is that what happened to Marvin Smith, who allegedly went missing while in police custody? Some of the bloggers here could care less because a white woman can kill her husband, get charged and convicted, sent to jail, then can walk out of jail and leave the country. The Justice in this country is worse than it was in South Africa befor Nelson Mandela became president and ended apartheid. Both Marvin Dames and the COP needs to be investigated.

Road maintenance is supposed to be ongoing. But seems like it’s an ongoing struggle to keep up with it. For a pothole on a major thoroughfare to get over a foot deep, My God! And East Street and some others. A disgusting disgrace.
