Don’t forget this is just the first stage of the ban on plastics. More items, mostly single use plastics will be banned. The act says if you are caught with these items in your possession in The Bahamasyou can be fined or jailed or both. So persons traveling abroad. If you shop in say Walmart and mistakenly pack your purchases in the shopping bags. Or if you purchase a snack in an airport when returning home and they give you styrofoam or plastic forks or bags, these items will be confiscated at the airport or points of entry and you can be fined. Nd when the ban is extended to include plastic water bottles and soft drinks containers, many places don’t allow bottles.

On 48 hours to go until plastics ban

And Robots failed to mention that Bahamians will be paying this rate reduction bond for some twenty years... like you have a mortgage in BPL but no house to show for it.

John says...

of course he welcomes the !5% rate hike. Super Value can easily pass this rate hike on to its customers. Food prices has been skyrocketing over the past decade so what is anothe little 15% price hike? One that wasn't necessary. BPL could have dealt with this situation ever since the price of oil dropped from $150 plus to a barrel to just over $50 a barrel. But what happened? consumers saw their fuel surcharges triple and now this nutcracker comes talking trash.before taking his meds. Roberts is delusional or a part of the gang that is ripping off the Bahamian public like its no body's business. Piracy is legal is this Bahamas!

So is it illegal to sign a contract before an election? Government is presumed to be continuous. Don't forget the outcome when Hubert Ingraham stopped, reviewed and cancelled all contracts of the previous administration, send the economy into a recession.

Sounds like Bannister is saying "Dog ate Scott's lunch and he will have to wait until the PLP win again to get compensated. Obviously they are building their case on their claim that Scott was building illegally without a building permit and the project was stopped before they abandoned it.

Part of the problem with click 2clear is the system is slow to respond of stops responding during peak hours. So an operator will be inputting data and getting no response. And this ‘pay first’ is a crazy idea. If you did an entry from your office you can wait until the entry is approved the go to pay for and pick up your goods. Now you must pay and it can be days before the goods are released. So you cannot plan your time. Imagine someone who has several brokers and truckers working.

So when did we reach the point in this country where professional people can’t sit down and negotiate. Reason things out. They say a lot of murders and attempts are due to the lack of the ability of conflict resolution. But is the government setting the right example by the way it is treating its employees? Some persons who have served this country for many years and with distinction.

Maybe this country or its government is still to expectant that the US will always be there to assist.
