December is always an unusual month for crime, murder included, because there is so much more activity , social and economic. And persons caught up in the spirit of celebration tend to let their guard down and become more careless. As for murder, yes, the figures are down significantly. And whilst the police may have reasons to blow their horns horns and tout the fact that murders are down other factors must also be considered. Attrition, for example. Where a lot of the really dangerous and criminal minded individuals, many gang leaders or local drug lords have themselves been murdered, jailed, put on the run or otherwise made incapacitated. Then there is the resistance by many of the younger generation to become involved with gangs and gang banging. And because of their wisdom and sensible choice, many of the gangs are not as big and strong and as affluent as previously. Yet much pressure is put on many young men, school aged boys to join gangs. And this is where the police and other government agencies and civic organizations can be more aggressive is starving gangs and causing them to die off and fade away. So while you attacking the head and cutting down the leaders, you are also attacking the feeding system and preventing and discouraging young men from joining. And at the same time , wholesome and productive activity, including employment, job training education and civic and religious activities must be made available to young persons who resist the gangs and criminal activity.

So word is that one of the victims of this incident is related to the male that was killed on Monday morning. So is the commissioner of police or the police spokesman going into 2019 with their ‘tired and worn out speech, usually delivered of the still warm, but dead body of a murdered victim, that the victim was a prolific offender and a person known to police?’ When will these officers stop baiting the public with ignorance and understand that it is the polices’ duty to keep every citizen safe and murder of a criminal or even a wanted man is still bloody murder. And rather than appearing as if to engage in ‘active policing ‘. The commissioner or any police spokesman should ensure that any crime, especially murder, committed in this country will be taken seriously and ALL pepetrators of crime, especially murder, will be hunted down, to the four corners of the earth and brought to justice. Swiftly. And rather than issuing a grey message about prolific offenders, the police should warn the public against engaging in vigilante justice or taking matters into their own hands. Murder is murder and the police should also warn young men against joining gangs or engaging in gang activities.

And NO, it’s not about bashing the police or the police force. But you cannot fix society or the crime problem unless you also fix the police and the police force and the judicial system and the correctional system. When two citizens are murdered in broad daylight and the only statement from the police is ‘the victim was known to polic.. one of our prolific offenders... and the female lost her life associating with him., that officers or spokesman needs his batteries charged! Murder is murder and the death penalty is not in effect.

The ‘Tribune ‘ published a story years ago where mothers who gave birth at PMH were given the wrong babies. And eventually the mistake was discovered years later after both children had spent years growing up in the wrong family. Would be interesting to know the outcome of that situation.

So is the police statement saying it’s ok to murder someone, that has a criminal record, in broad daylight, and also KILL, anyone who happens to be with them at the time of the execution, and also anyone, including family, that has association with this individual? Houston we do have a pry!

Many innocent young men are 'known to police.' And many of them don't have a criminal record. Not saying this is the case in this instance. The police keep picking them and putting charges on them or until they, become, Known to police.' The trend now is also to charge them with assaulting a police officer, so when the other charges don't stick....

When a shooter can walk up to a vehicle (not in this case) loaded with three or four occupants and shoot their target multiple times without injuring anyone else, that person is no stranger to guns or killing.

Are we eras apart? A former president of the great USA passed and its almost like ‘not hardly a creature was stirred.’ In fact the major concern amongst a particular group was if Donald Trump would be invited to the funeral and if he would attend. And no one cannot be more the blame for the division and fraction that exists in America today between races and parties and workers and unemployed and immigrants. And so everyone has decided to stay in their little corner and outta them people business. And unfortunately the elder Bush happens to pass when America is so divided. And May his soul Rest In Peace.
