The biggest blunder and stupidest thing ever was after the Head Knowles team discovered parts of the plane's wreckage and after turning the find over to authorities, the commander of the Defense Force, declared that the crash area was now a secured area and this team of divers could not go back into the area unless they first registered with the Defense Force. There is a saying in fishing that, the boat with all the power (big engines) pass all the fish." Wouldn't it have been so much more graceful, and productive if the commander had shown more appreciation for the Head Knowles effort and invited them to join the Defense Force team on another search? By the Commodore's admission, the crash site entails a vast area and the more hands on deck the better the chances of discovery. They can either find the fuselage with Mr. Ferguson still strapped in, they can find it without a body or they can find remains of Mr. Ferguson and not find the plane or otherwise, they can find nothing at all.

So are the Defense Force marines actually trained (and competent) in sea and rescue? Or they just trained to patrol the harbor and allow Haitians in their wooden sloops to slip right in? Even right netting the Defense Force Base. A few weeks ago when Marvin Dames and the commissioner of police were criticized for allowing US helicopters to come in and disrupt the peace and why of at least 1/3 of the island and then Grand Bahama, one blogger’s response was ‘Y’all always criticizing the US but when there is a tragedy at sea, they is the first one y’all is call?’ So we’re our most friendly neighbor to the West called in on theis matter? Or was it a ‘no big deal we don’t have to call them type attitude from the outset and from the top? There are many questions and questions need answers. Or will it continue to be business as usual.

Gas prices have already dropped at local pumps by 20 cents this week alone.

The price of oil has fallen 20 percent in the last five weeks. The demand for oil is decreasing. And OPEC is worried. Is this an indication that the world economy is slowing or the shift to alternative fuels is growing? OPEC would normally cut back production to maintain the price of oil but even with Iranian oil being blocked off the market the price continues to fall. Some projoit will hit a low of $40 within weeks. And this will be the first time OPEC cutting back on production will not maintain the price of oil because there is now ay abaundant supply of alternative and renewable energy. And if the economy is slowing that will make a greater consumer market for fuel. So by January/February the50-65% increases in BPL bills should disappear.

Sexual favors for financial assistance maybe, but prostitution? And this is a wake up call to all Bahamians. No not The prostitution claim, but the fact that the quality of life for the average Bahamian has eroded steadily since 2008. And despite the many sacrifices, many hare still finding it difficult to make ends meet. And unfortunately things have not yet hit the bottom. With the continued pressure on businesses by government and the increases in the cost of doing business, many businesses will have to increase their prices. Others will have to close. Just hope this country doesn’t get to the point of not women selling their bodies to pay utility bills, but going into food stores to find empty shelves or having to fight another for the last package of something. It has already happened in many countries around the world, and some not too far from The Bahamas. Perilous times will come.

Actually what they are doing is making it easier for them to shut you down and seize your assets under the guise of 'failing to comply' or they fine a business heavily and out of existence. But the bigger picture is whoever is behind it knows no foreign company will rush to do business in this country with these requirements in place. But dumb blokes, like Marlon Johnson, can't see the bigger picture. He only sees it as an opportunity to beat up on Bahamian business people, some who are in a 10 year struggle to save their businesses and their livelihood, when potential foreign investors will run away, far from the Bahamas.
