God wants the Sabbath restored in this country. Then we will see some sense of normalcy. The government allowed foreigners to convince them that ‘it has to be business as usual ‘ because tourists claim that there was nothing to do on the Sabbath and ‘they were bored.’ But every other country you go in their holy days and public days are observed. Eventhe US is now more observing of the Sabbath than The Bahamas.

And let’s not forget those mothers and families who had innocent family members shot to smothering by police officers and were told ‘cold’ that there will be no special investigation.

Is this a democracy or a dictatorship? Even if the three members voted against the budget or abstained, Minnis had sufficient votes for the budget to pass. This is clear indication that there is foreign tampering in our government. They want Minnis to have full control so when they force more controversial bills down your throats, you will swallow without even asking for water. With each of the three fired MP’s representing constituents of four thousand, that is close to Twelve Thousand persons that are now not supporting the FNM or at least doubting Minnis and his intentions. Want to know why? Take $50 and go into any food store and try buy food for three people. Even try $100. Most of these people don’t have a car, cable or internet. Some don’t have light or running water. And so you telling them you gonna make their lives even more difficult and your only explanation is that the government before you screwed up. What has this government fixed or made better in the past 24 months?

"Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual 20 and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. 21 So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. 22 The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 23 and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”

They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”

25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.”

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

His bench may be deep but this game is not going into over time.

John says...

Proven that Minnis is just a mere puppet. And his strings are telling to bring fire on the heads of the Bahamian people and destroy anyone who oppose you. Let us pray.

John says...

but the our god informs us (Book of Isiah)
.
.
"".**Good people pass away;
the godly often die before their time.
But no one seems to care or wonder why.
No one seems to understand
that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
2For those who follow godly paths
will rest in peace when they die.
Idolatrous Worship Condemned
3“But you—come here, you witches’ children,
you offspring of adulterers and prostitutes!
4Whom do you mock,
making faces and sticking out your tongues?
You children of sinners and liars!
5You worship your idols with great passion
beneath the oaks and under every green tree.
You sacrifice your children down in the valleys,
among the jagged rocks in the cliffs.
6Your gods are the smooth stones in the valleys.
You worship them with liquid offerings and grain offerings.
They, not I, are your inheritance.
Do you think all this makes me happy?
7You have committed adultery on every high mountain.
There you have worshiped idols
and have been unfaithful to me.
8You have put pagan symbols
on your doorposts and behind your doors**."

Wouldn’t all these arguments also hold true for the casinos? Doesn’t the advent of technology allow tourists to gamble from their hotel rooms or even while on the beach? And surely their ‘takes’ ahave also increased in proportion to the web shops boys’ earnings. Why doesn’t D’Aguilar put the income statements for the casinos on the table right next to the web shop boys so Bahamians can dissect them and see if they agree with the casinos not being taxed more heavily. And remember the web shops are in their growth cycle. A new product is expected to grow as it penetrates the market. But as the web shops age and become less attractive and more expensive to manage they will have no choice but to close, if the monies they are making now are so heavily taxed that none much is left for future growth advertising and promotions and even new products development.

The fact is the country has been reduced to managing crime and managing criminals and everything else is built around how high or how low the criminal element is. With more than a week left in this month ( June) and the murder count already hitting 50, the country is definitely headed for another year of triple digit murders. And after a decade of what is preceived to be senseless killings the only response seems to give the police more cars and equipment. But what plans have been put in place moving forward? The murderers who were killing 20 years ago are not the same who are killing today because many of them are in jail or dead. And the victims of 10 years ago are not the victims today. The point is no intervention is being done to stop a new breed of killers and today there is no specific reason for you to become a victim. You can just happen to own a business, or be going for a haircut, or on your way to school or even home after school doing homework and hanging out at a bar or playing Domonioes or a game of cards. So there has to be some real consequences for someone even thinking about murdering someone else. But what do you do with someone whom, himself does not fear death or even as a teenager or in his early 20’s doesn’t mind the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison. And some consider jail to be a refuge. Safer than the streets are now.

The fact is New providence is becoming to trauma filled with the violence from the crime, the numerous car accidents and the day to day stress of living in the city. It is starting to take its toll on the general population. More and more young people are turning to drugs and alcohol and the older people are drinking more and choosing to stay at home. Social life is being restricted and more and more persons with psychological disorders are popping up. Life was already hard trying to deal with economic hardships cause by the unrelenting recession.
