Just why y'all trying to make The Bahamas a segregated society. Both economically and socially. Everything the natives do or are successful at you try to label it as criminal or unacceptable behavior. You don't want us to participate in our tourism, its OK for casinos to be on Paradise Island or Cable Beach but wrong for Sebas to own a radio station. Its ok for foreigners to come here and pump tonnes and tonnes of aragonite from the ocean but a Bahamian gets locked up for moving a bucket of sand off the beach. We pay 2.50 for around of salt and the man who is taking it all the way to Germany to make weapons among other things pay less than that for a tonne of salt. But there is a rude wakening coming yet.

The fact is the entire Bahamian marked has slowed since The middle of last year and even worse since December. And if people are hardly buying food and clothing at home imagine higher priced automobiles. And remember too, the IMF’s revelations are for the future performance of the economy and may not be felt until late summer. But you cannot fault consumers for attempting to get the biggest bang for their bucks and at this juncture it means purchasing the ‘almost disposable ‘ fuel efficient ‘lil gremlins ‘ from Japan. Then what is the local automotive market doing to prepare itself for the big switch to electric cars over the next few years and then to driverless vehicles within a decade. The driverless cars will almost all be electric and even the switch from gas power will mean less gas stations and mechanics And automotive parts stores. And the introduction of driverless will require much road work, including proper sidewalks and traffic signal adjustment. And without having a selfish eye, Mr.Lowe and Mr. Albury must admit that while the small gremlins being imported from Japan may not put as much money in the Public Treasury by way of customs duties and VAT as the vehicles they import does, but they also do not burn as much fuel, thus reducing both pollution and the fuel imports bill.

Still trying to figure out how those people in Bain and Grants Town and the surrounding areas are going to get back and forth to the post office when it moves all the way to Gladstone Road. Many of the patrons are also small business owners who use the services of the parcel post. So when they could have dashed and picked up their parcels on their lunch break they must now travel half way across the island to do the same business. And even finding a ride.
