In fact police shootings during that same four month period, October to now was probably the highest in history. Rogue policing and police harassment of the general public, does more harm than what benefits it has. Police stops must be conducted under the assumption that everyone is innocent until they are found to be otherwise. Police cannot rough up an intimidate drivers in the middle of the street and expect them to be cordial. And police must use judgement and common sense. Case in point: The strip of road coming from the Redemption Center is very busy in the morning rush. And from the road was constructed more than 10 years ago motorist would come around turning lane to join the lane that is going cross Blue Hill Road. There is sufficient space there and it does not interfere with traffic flowing in the opposite direction. Well two traffic cops decided to post up there give tickets to the motorists who crossed into the second lane before time. It was not long before traffic travelling in that direction backed up all the way to the light by the Clarence Bain Building. Then prevented traffic from flowing on the adjoining streets. All these cops had to do before giving tickets is sit there and watch the traffic flow and see that it is impossible for traffic to flow smoothly that time of the day if cars don't cross over to the second lane. And the only reason the lane is not extended is because of the lanes turning into NIB. And that is why the lines are broken an not painted solid. To allow motorists to cross over when there is traffic overflow.
The budget passed in the US last night will push that country’s national debt to 21.6 trillion dollars! This is 115% of the GDP for the past 12 months. In the main time gas prices are going back up, so are food prices, especially items like milk and meat. The stock market has saw its two worst days of single day declines in its entire history and despite unemployment being at nearly an all time low, consumer confidence is down and there is little increase in spending. The concern is about inflation and increased interest as Trump’s tax cuts take effect. The increase of cash flow into the US because of these cuts may not necessarily lead to corresponding increases in production. And if consumers continue to hold on to their money despite earning better wages and the country having near full employment, this will led to what is known as stagflation...the economy will be in recession but prices will continue to increase.....and with the tax cuts the national debt will soar! Guess what comes after that?
In the main time Rob Porter is struggling to keep his job at the White House because of allegations of domestic abuse... White so much parallels between the US (lamb that speaks like a dragon) politics and Bahamian politics? Imagine when the spousal rape law comes into effect.
Yes leave the Bahamian people out of this...except those who is going to Aura, Sunday Buffet at Atlantis and to see that Witherspoon guy... if you can afford several hundreds of dollars a night or mor to stay at Atlantis or live over there.. it should be like peanuts to pay $5 - $6 to cross the bridge. And no no increases in tolls for workers dem.... or empty taxis.
