Not only did consumers use more electricity because the summer heat was degrees higher than normal, but persons who never had air conditioning before decided to install units to escape the unbearable heat, at least during the nighttime. Then everything like refrigerators coolers televisions computers all burned additional power because they were operating at higher temperatures than normal. Bahamians need to start preparing now for next summer. Turn down ac units as the temperature cools down. Every home should start building out a solar system. Start with outside or security lights or security lights that operate off solar. They come with individual panels that charge up during the day and power the unit at night. Solar powered fans lights radio are also available. Then seek to install rooftop solar panels, at least to provide essential power. The most expensive component will be the batteries but you can purchase RV or deep cycle batteries that can power lights and small appliances when the power goes off. The law allows for you to power 80 % of your power needs through solar or renewable energy.

Yes , if the school went to the extent of involving police and having persons arrested, then students and parents should be informed of the nature of the threat. For a threat to be valid, the persons making the threat have to have the capability if carrying it out. And in these ‘crazy times’, understandably security of students and others at the school it on the campus is priority number one. But you can’t defend effectively from a threat if you don’t know what it s. And the implications are that students from another school are involved.

The high cost of electricity and fuel is also impacting other areas of the economy. Consumers are using funds that should be to purchase food clothing and other products to pay exorbitant electricity bills and high fuel costs, And if this situation isn’t corrected soon, it will not only be shady retailers fighting for survival. And once businesses start to lay off workers or shut down completely, the domino effect will run for months before it can be corrected. Inflation was purposely generated by the Feds raising the interest rates after being warned not to do so.

The US State Department puts out several travel advisories for The BaHAMAS, year after year and sometimes numerous advisories in the same year. This is despite millions of Americans visit The Bahamas each year, safely and incident free. The USA still has The Bahamas ( and Jamaica) listed as countries that produce and/or involved in the transshipment of illicit drugs. This is despite the US now being one of the largest producer, processed and consumer of marijuana in the world. California alone produces over eleven billion dollars in LEGAL marijuana and probably three times as much in illegally produced weed. And guess who is by far the number one producer of illegal firearms that are involved in ninety percent of crimes around the world and a significant number of murders around the world . The emperor has on no clothes.

I still think I’m my mind that this whole Sam Bankman-Fried ( Tribune did not catch the mistake in their article) FTX saga is some preconceived and secretly planned dragnet and sting operation planned to trap and ensnare thousands of ‘innocent’ investors and deprive them of Billions in investments. It just seems odd and supernatural that a young, albeit ‘wiz kid’ and a group of friends, who were mostly strung out on drugs could command control of such a large chunk of liquid assets , a lot of it from seasoned investors and squander it in such a short time. And tge winding up of FTX seems to be yet another huge money grab by those involved in the process and definitely another scandal.

Persons who use illicit drugs or working in or frequent areas where illicit drugs are used are avoid going around young children, and in any event shower and change clothes when coming home from clubs bars etc. The opioid, fentanyl is hitting this country by storm, as was confirmed by a leading psychologist and even the residue on clothing or on one’s body after coming in close contact with it can be harmful to others and deadly to children. Medical facilities and ambulances should now have a supply naloxone, the antidote for fentanyl. Persons are known to have seizures after overdosing on fentanyl and death s short time later is not uncommon . A number of tourists have died mysteriously in the Caribbean and Mexico while in their hotel rooms and the cause of their deaths are not yet conclusive.

The day will come when African and Caribbean and South American countries will form their own union and not have to pander to racist and corrupt and money grabbing organizations like the European Union. All you need do is Google ‘corruption in the European Union’ or ‘Corrupt EU members.’ And you will come up with enough information to see that The Bahamas is a clean and spotless country, compared to most of the other members.’ The day will come when countries, like The Bahamas will be pulling the plug on such organizations and telling them which part of the anatomy to kiss with affection.

The’MIss Donald Trump’ if The Bahamas!’ Is anything ever right? Is there never ever someone who needs to be fired or a contract that needs to be terminated? Where was Miss Trump when the recruiting, vetting and hiring process was going on? Why is Belinda Wilson always, ‘ after the fact?’ Because she thrives on being in media and draws her power from it. Always whipping authority. Basically everyone knows that Teachers are in demand all around the world. Teachers and nurses. There will be a shortage of some 60 million teachers in a few years! Bahamian teachers are being more recruited from in the Caribbean because they have an accent that is more easily understood and because they are more exposed to the US and Canada and even Britain. So potentially more adaptable. Remember The Bahamas use to recruit teachers from those countries and from Jamaica and Barbados and Trinidad. Now they are recruiting Bahamians.
.
. Does Belinda Wilson ever come with the mindset to ‘let’s come together and work this out. Let’s seek an achievable solution. Tomorrow’s deadline will accomplish what? You can hardly go out and find a newspaper boy on short notice. Be real Belinda! To interrupt the school year abruptly on children whose education is already compromised will only benefit you by feeding your insatiable ego. Can’t you just reason together, sometimes? If the ministry was to pack these ‘non speaking’ Cuban teachers and ship them back home tomorrow, would that better the situation or make it worse?

Would you take it as a compliment if someone referred to your wife or mother as ‘having big balls?’
