Your denegrading response is always on point.NOT! But being the X Pert you are on social dysfunction, then maybe you can explain why all the curbs and sidewalks of many major cities in the US are populated, no now littered, with homeless, people. Some drug addicts and abusing other substances but most have more than an average education and at, some point held high profile and high paying jobs. Some ( many) serving in the military and doing service overseas. And most have two kids or less, if any.. A US version of the local Shantytown problem.

Get the jist if it Bahamians are paying BPL premium electricity charged to dump sludge and other waste fuels !

John says...

Don’t believe that this runway inflation and including the BPL outrageous electricity hikes were not planned and not intentional .On the international level, the Feds were highly advised that no intervention in the economy was necessary after the pandemic. But they decided, yes, there would be runaway inflation as the economy opened back up and consumers scrambled to purchase goods, not just food, but high ticket items. They were warned NOT to raise the interest rates as there was no shortages of goods and services and supply and demand would level out as businesses reopened and employees returned to work. But they raised the internet rate, not once but several times. And there was runaway inflation. Over 20 percent in some places and on some items. Them suckers we’re trying to, not only recoup the excess earnings persons who were brave ( no not that Brave) enough to work during the pandemic and earn up to twice their incomes, plus the loss of income assistance millions of workers got around the world earned, but they were trying to create a recession and drive wages and salaries back down. But it didn’t work so far. Why ? The attitude of consumers; ‘ chil I could’ve dead in that pandemic. In fact I knew people who did. And I know people who almost did. So I going and enjoy me one lil piece of my life’. And that why tourism, especially cruises are so bursting through the roof. .
.
.
As for BPL, the gangsters too , who supplies BPL with fuel , Pre Minnis are back to work shysting the Bahamian consumers out of hundreds of millions annually wit excessively exorbitant electricity bills. PEEP this. MOST of the fuel BPL uses is garbage!! Most of the fuel BPL uses is WASTe! It cannot be used anywhere else in the world, and some maybe in industrial settings, and would have to be dumped which would also have limited locations and be very costly. But the gangsters ship it here and sell it to BPL at a premium. And drive up the cost of electricity here beyond the reach of the average consumer. And even worse, a lot of these fuels are not properly graded. It is sludge , dump matter, waste material. And one of the reasons why BPL having so much trouble and problems with their engine. Remember when Shell added something to their fuels a few years ago . They claim it was to increase mileage. But not only did it do the opposite but most of Shell’s customers had to purchase new vehicles or new engines. The company offered apologies but no compensation. Is it the same company today supplying fuel bro BPL? Apologies still , but no compensation stilly

Some Airlines will be charging $800 to $1100 to get to Freeport from Florida during the Thanksgiving/ Christmas holidays. And, I’m most cases they have to route the passengers through Nassau. Can easily cost $3,000 for three people, so the decision is made to either stay in Nassau or find some other destination. Freeport loses out.

Well he is also being sued. His actions were draconian and unnecessary, including the verbal abuse and filthy language. Children need discipline, yes but not abuse

. As for tourists being to avoid Port Lucaya this is an ongoing battle. And once the new ‘private’ port opens, the economy of Freeport will suffer even more. Only a few of the hand picked ‘Unca Toms’ will be able to access the port and sing ( or dance) for their supper. Tourists were being told for years to avoid the straw market in Nassau and some lie to the effect that the straw work c was contaminated with bugs and would not be allowed on the ship. Other stores downtown were blacklisted if they didn’t tip the cruise directors. Watch what is happening on Bay Street. The port is extending its tents and more and more Bahamians, including bud and tour drivers are being disenfranchised, by stupid, Iii informed and poorly trained and spiteful police officers. Ignorant to the fact that when they deny Bahamians, their own people, the opportunity to earn a dollar, it lessens the chance that government will have money to pay them in the near future. Envision in the near future where Bay Street in the extending areas of the port will become a secure area ( despite there being no threats from Bahamians) with very restricted access for Bahamians.. Ingraham is dead on wrong, no pun intended You been around ( like Ingraham) long enough to know that not contesting the election will be interpreted by the Bahamian electorate as not being ready or not being qualified to form the government of the Bahamas. Geesh! The headline said more about Ingraham than the article. and in fact the article confirmed that Ingraham had no comment on the matter.. Neverthelessl if Ingraham did offer such I’ll advice it should be ignored FULLY. Whilst it is highly unlikely for an opposition party or a non-government party candidate to win an election ( remember the governing party has acces to the public treasury and influence over civil servants), the FNM should not miss this opportunity to test the political waters, especially during this half time mark and see where the mindset and political heartbeat of the electorate is. For the PLP, not winning the seat spells disaster For the FNM not winning the seat is not as important as analyzing the number and getting the sentiments of the people. As for Hubert Ingraham, whether he offered such I’ll and wicked advice or not, clearly the Ingraham era is over. As Irrelevant as these macabre ads one has to scroll past to blog in this place. Intentional? Probably.

John says...

This Tribune Media is ridiculously sick! Why does one have to scroll through a barrage of obviously irrelevant ‘ads’ to blog? If these ads were genuine and not just a nuisance barrier , then why don’t they, at least one, appear in Tribune’s hard copy?
