And it was good to see police executing road checkpoints in the far western end of New Providence recently. For persons exiting the airport and further down. And for the number of vehicles seen pulled over, the event was a success and is a clear indication that more roadblocks are needed in those areas.

Any killing is a loss of life and should be investigated. Any police involved killing should have a coroner inquiry and an inquest. ELEVEN police shootings in a year and FIVE in less than two months does not stand good on the police records. Granted the country has a serious crime problem and there are thug criminals who are willing to engage the police in gun battles. These villains should never come out the victor, especially if the battle occurs in some public arena where there are victims to justify the police shooting. But the concern is where the victims of the police shootings were no armed or posed no serious threat to police. But then too, the criminal community should see the handwriting on the wall. The police intends, apparently, to take no prisoners. If you are a prolific offender or if you intend to challenge the police in the execution of their duties, you will pay dearly. It may even cost you your life. The crime culture must end and some may lose their lives in the process. But the country cannot continue so see headlines indicating the murder count being above 100 and continuing to increase. Police killings must be scrutinized and should be justified.

The Bible also says , ‘It is better to marry than to burn ‘ (in lust for the flesh. So marriage gives a man and a woman greater access to each other (sexually). And yes there are abusive relationships among married couples. And that is why God in his wisdom allowed Moses to allow for divorce. ‘Because of the heartening of mans heart ‘ either a man or a woman can end a marriage rather than stay and be violently abused or even killed.

The wedding woes admonishes a man to love and cherish his wife. It also instructs wives to SUBMIT unto their husbands. Humans are not like dogs who have to wait to be in heat. They are capable of copulating st anytime . Except the Bible instructs a man not to touch his wife when she unclean. So when a man sleeps with his wife and wakes up with a certain kind of feeling his wife is expected to fulfill his needs. But twisted minds wants the law to tell a wife she doesn’t have to fulfill her marital duties if she doesn’t want and if your husband compels you to be obedient you can send him to jail. So how many marriages will survive after a wife has her husband arrested for rape? And what effect will this have on the children?

When I was in college a male student was invited to his girlfriends’s room. And they started to do what every young couple would do. And then when it got to a certain point the young girl hollers ‘No, no stop, I don’t really want to do this, Stop. But the young man being a roused as young, healthy, natural men are continued to hold on to her begging her to continue. She screamed and after she got free ran and the police came. And despite the young man being fully clothed through the ordeal and his female companion too he was charged with rape. The evidence was he had ejaculated in his clothes. He got a 10 year jail sentence. The girl went on to finish her college career and live free as a bird. So now you telling married med ‘when in doubt sleep on the couch else you might end up in jail with someone else playing with your tail, and ya wife, she ain’t gonna stand ya bail so in jail you stay. Sharing with six other negroes, yes negroes, a pail.

In the main time the US economy will be awash with cash as early as next year if Donald Trump gets his tax bill passed. This will see some corporations tax burden decrease by almost 50%. But will these companies just hold on to this cash or will they invest and pass some on to their employees? They only way Trump’s tax cut will be successful is if it causes companies to invest more and consumers to spend more. More and banks to make more loans at lower interest rates. But many companies already have excess cash they are not loaning, consumers are wiser and spending cautiously at the best and the stock market is through the roof because interest rates are already low. So the other option the US has is to grow its foreign market. But is there an appetite for US goods overseas. Failing this the tax cut can lead to a Great Recession as there will be no market for the additional units of output created by the tax cut. So many companies will have to cut back on production, or shit down completely, and lay off workers. Government will see its revenue decrease rather than increase, they will have to borrow more causing the national debt to surge and then will be forced to raise taxes creating an even more dramatic scenario. But if the tax cut is effective and grows the economy Americans will see a dramatic increase in their wealth and standards of living. This, of course, will play on the nerves of China and Japan, who will see their markets shrink. Will they then resort to ‘product dumping ‘. where the flood the markets with prices ways below the market value.

If you look at the history of S&P and Moody’s and other rating agencies you will know that countries like the Bahamas will always be under some threat or the other of being downgraded and/it delisted. You see these organizations do not regulate The economies of countries, they manipulate them. Look at most of the countries that have the greatest natural resources. Most of them are still among the ‘poorest ‘ in the world. They are the least developed, have great internal strife, government instability or great health issues or some other problems. So either all the wealth of the country has to go to ‘fixing ‘ these problems, foreigners are brought in to control or manage the resources or the resources are otherwise frittered away whilst the four faces some major distractions. Why is the US seeking to reduce their taxes, in some cases by 50%, while pressure is being brought to increase taxes even more. With 6 million tourists visiting this country each year, a properly designed tourist product alone can produce enough government revenue to cover the national budget. And almost all other government revenue can be surplus. Some can even be returned to Bahamians. But we refuse to take the cotton off our eyes.

The facts are clear and simple: The Creator (whom ever yours may be). Set out rules and guidelines that are to govern mans existence and his presence on earth. There no need for human to adjust or alter these rules. Especially when the persons attempting to do so never intended to follow the rules in the first instance. There are five people in a car headed to Georgia from Florida. But there is only one steering wheel. So the driver will determine how the res of passengers get to Georgia and when. And despite the directions and teeth sucking he may get from others, God put man behind the driver seat. And the more and more he tries to share this responsibility with others, the further and further he goes off course. A good woman will never challenge a mans ability to lead and a good man will never mistreat or disrespect a good woman.

John says...

The government must seek to end the great (man made) depression that has plagued this country since 2008 and bring relief to the masses of Bahamian people. Stop listening to these clowns who are pushing you to tax Bahamians even more whilst they t’oef our sand, our salt, our aragonite, our gold, fly through our airspace without compensation. Our gold even. Yes they bring it here as ‘fine, high jewelry then come buy it back as scrap gold for pennies of the dollar. Gold is never scrap. The country also has to deal with white collar criminals and their crimes.

John says...

Still curious why the commodore of the Defense Force was asked to stand down from patrolling the western coast of New Providence (where all the rich folks live). What exactly was going on out there? Was some type of smuggling operation going on that was supplying guns among other things to fuel crimes in the country? A known fact is many people that live behind the gates despise local Bahamians to the bone and love to see them killing each other while they secretly plot to steal the country. And some also have their drugs and substance abuse problems. Only they could afford it.
