Irma is now passing New Providence. Wind will get a little stronger with some rain. Then som stronger winds as Irma turns and passes the second time on Saturday night. That's it folks!

John says...

New Providence doesn't seem like it will get too much of Irma, even after it makes the turn on Saturday to go to Florida.

Things are not looking too good for the Carolinas of the US. Jose seems to want to follow Irma into the Carolinas and maybe even Virgina. And this is only after spending several days out on the ocean gaining strength. And there is no land mass between the storm and the Eastern US coast so the Carolinas may get the brunt of a full force hurricane even very soon after being battered with Irma. Then there's Lee..Trekking in a similar path as Irma..

SAD to say Jose now seems poised to go into the Carolinas by next weekend. Lee (the newly formed storm ). Seems to be following the path of Irma and Jose to the Caribbean.

Yes a tsunami that may affect California and other interests.

There are actually FOUR storm systems currently active. There's Irma that has everyone concerned right now. There's Jose that is getting stronger and following in a path behind Irma. In fact it is about to hit some of the islands just devastated by Irma, including Barbuda. There's Kari's that has formed off the Northern coast of Mexico. Then there's a system developing off the Coast of Africa. There's also a system off Canada that seems to be steering both Irma and keeping them from moving North and out to sea. The map looks like somebody's chess game. 'When I move you move.'

The biggest problem so far after the hurricane passes is looting. Most of the hurricane supplies wethat were not used were lost in the hurricane. So you will need fresh people to work the centers after the hurricane

At least three to four states in America may be devastated by this hurricane. This includes Florida that may get the eye from The Florida Keys all the way up to Jacksonville. Damage in Florida alone is expected to be in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Bottom line is these standards will have to be relaxed at least in the interim
