If you look at the even bigger picture, the Over The Hill area that supported bay Street and hand-in-hand got its support from Bay Street has also fallen to its worst state of disrepair. Persons who could afford to have moved out of the area to the east and South Western parts of the island. This left an area with high unemployment, high crime and a large number of vacant and dilapidated buildings. A hub for crime. The revitalisation of Bay Street may also mean a comeback for these areas as well.

Truth to the matter is there are persons all over the internet with similar schemes. At one point some clowns were hacking into your computer then 'selling you a package" to fix your computer and make it run faster. Once you gave them your credit card information, they went to work and cleaned it out. The computer never got fixed and don't waste time tying to call the numbers they gave you. And property "time-share" is another big rip off for the most part. persons sell you ownership in parts of the world that you will never visit or visit only once in a life time. then when you try to book a stay at your time-share it is always unavailable. The most likely reason is because it doesn't exist.

I had an officer pull me over in Florida who was so drunk he couldn't stand without leaning on my car. When i produced my Bahamian driver's licence on his request, he threw it back at me saying, "you can't drive with that sh!t over here." He then called in my plates and asked the dispatcher about my licence. Then after she told him it was OK to drive with it in Florida or anywhere in the US, he apologized and said, ,"They just transferred my down here from Jacksonville and I really don't know what the F#@k is going on." Then he said have a nice day and staggered back to his cruiser.

While it is the responsibility for property owners to maintain their properties, they would be at a loss to invest monies into these properties with no clear plan as to what is being done with the Bay Street area. Some properties in the area of john bull were able to renovate and upgrade their properties and attract high end tenants, while persons who own properties further East have pumped millions into properties with no returns, at least not substantial. Maybe the Bay street area can be divided into three zones. Bay Street proper will be from East Street going West to the Sheraton Hotel. This area will be formal shopping with the high end shopping - jewelery and perfumery stores. East of East Street will be more mixed use with living spaces, restaurants, night life , food stores etc., West Bay Street will cater mostly to the beach- going tourist, beach wear, t-shirts, shell craft and souviners. Also the Bahamian restaurants and beach bars, tiki huts, sea sports etc. Just an idea. But having Bay street and one long strip mall will not work anymore.

"*As historical interpretations go, this one is pretty non-controversial. Everyone who has heard about the “War on Drugs” knows that what we now call “mass incarceration”, the de facto national policy of locking up millions of low-level offenders, began long before 1994. And yet similar stories reporting that non-startling fact are now being published all across the American media landscape. That mass incarceration commenced before 1994 is apparently Big News.

Why report a historical fact that everyone already knows? The answer is because former president Bill Clinton, the man who called for and signed the 1994 crime bill, is also the husband of the current frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination, and Democratic voters are having trouble squaring his draconian crime bill with his wife’s liberal image.

That might be the reason so many of these stories seem to unfold with the same goal in mind: to minimize Clinton’s moral culpability for what went on back in the 1990s. Mass incarceration was already happening, these stories agree. And besides, not everything in the crime bill was bad. As for its lamentable effects, well, they weren’t intentional. What’s more, Bill Clinton has apologized for it. He’s sorry for all those thousands of people who have had decades of their lives ruined by zealous prosecutors and local politicians using the tools Clinton accidentally gave them. He sure didn’t mean for that to happen.*" Not only did Clinton's 'crime bill" lock up millions of low income, mostly minorities, but a portion of the bill prevented these persons, once serving time,, from returning to their families if those families were receiving any form of government assistance, housing assistance, food stamps, educational grants etc., His wife followed with the 'super predator' experiments, where thousands of young black men were given drugs in Federal prisons to alter their behavior and personalities. Some of these drugs were so strong and mind-altering they even changed the individual's DNA. Had "Crooked" Hillary Clinton won the election, she would have continued this program by rounding up young, black men (whom she referred to as 'damaged goods, some beyond repair', and put them in 'concentration camps' (FEMA). Before you ever call Bill Clinton the first "black" president of the United States, go research his true history. And definitely that of his wife..shes still trying to climb back into power and into the spotlight.* While he may have apologised for his 'draconian" crime bill that destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives, did he ever put measures in place to help restore any of those lives.?

alfalfa....driving under the influence? Did anyone do a breathalyzer test or otherwise measure their blood:alcohol level? Most countries no longer have the "driving under the influence" charge. It is now "Driving while intoxicated" (DWI) where the blood/alcohol level has to be proven. Besides only one police was driving so your argument is weak.
