What it means is that persons working the polls will have to be vigilant and keen observers. Remember the days when Phillip Bethel used Bahamasair to fly his supporters back to governor's harbour to vote, even though they were residents in other parts of the country, many working at Bahamasair station. Then there was the occasion when it was alleged that dead people were voting. Persons who had died had not been taken off the register and it was alleged, but not proven, that persons were using their voters cards to vote.
It is the electorate that determines how long a person stays in politics. And if someone chooses Politics as a career, life time even, is anything wrong with that? Some people choose to be career criminals. In my college days some people took so long to graduate and some repeated classes so many times, we called them 'professional students '.

For those who don't like him, this will be the last general election for Perry Christie, whether he wins or loses. Come next election he will be close to 80, so will Bradley Roberts, Bernard Nottage and several others in Both major parties. So Perry Gladstone Christie will either retire as Prime Minister of the Bahamas or the defeated prime minister. Of the other two prime ministers, Sir Lyndon Pindling and Hon. Huber Ingraham, both were voted out of office before retiring.
Tal maybe if you learned to write better English you would be more credible. Or are you trying to disguise yourself by gobbling like a turkey..a cold one at that. Christie said Minnis is unqualified to govern yet he has two events that he known was happening since last year clashing. Not only that but he has sufficient over both events to move either or both froward or back to avoid them conflicting. And not only that, he was the only human in the country that knew what day he would have set the elections so there was no need to wait to the last minute to postpone carnival thereby inconveniencing so many people and even causing a loss of revenue to an already financially crippled event. So the reason for it may be other than the one given.
Who else is getting the feeling that the PLP seems to have panicked and are now packing up and running away? Even their rallies seem to be "ho hum". And lacking enthusiasm and a fighting spirit much less a winning one. Do the (PLP) know something the rest of the Bahama's does not yet know or do they see the handwriting of defeat clearly written on the wall?
Every thing Perry Christie tries to do recently seems to back fire on him. The PLP generals were bragging since last year how they had the IAAF relays and beach soccer and Junkanoo Carnival all lined up to take place just before election so 'dey could sweep every seat.' So how comes there is a conflict now? I think it's because the PLP are finding out how many people will not vote for them because of carnival and the web shops and crime and vat and unemployment. Some sombering words from a young man. " They blame every thing what wrong in the country on us, the young people. But there are no (good) jobs for young men especially. When you don't work you have no money and when you don't have money you can't take care of your responsibility. Then you get bored. You start to feel useless. Unwanted. Some of us who have children cannot love them like we supposed to because we don't have nothing to put in their hand. No food to give them. Then your girl start checking som one else cause she don't want to be with no broke dude. After that you just don't want to do nothing anymore. You stop looking for a job. Your friends stop hailing you up. Like you lock down. The world ain't supposed to be like that.
