Union leaders have to be some of the dumbest, selfish mentality blind mice o n the planet. Where did they ever conceive in their brain dead minds that minimum wage should be livable wage? Firstly minimum wage is the least amount a person can earn when he/she enters the job market. And the new minimum wage increase to $260.00 has brought on a number of challenges. For example, many workers do not posess basic skills like Reading, Riting and Ritmatic. And some employers must now justify paying them an additional $50 a week for being incompetent. The alternative is to replace them. Secondly, a livable wage is relative. Living in different parts of the country or even in different parts of New Providence have different costs. So is the Union going to propose different minimum wages, depending on where the worker live?
Your argument that the young men who are killing are illiterate is very erroneous. If they have the ability to access an illegal weapon, plan, hunt down and kill their perceived target, they are not illiterate. Beyond that. The problem is many young men have become programmed killing machines. Started under the Clinton administration or before. When Hillary did experiments on Black prisoners. Once they got ‘coded’ they will have to go out and kill. The X Box and Play Station may seem harmless toys but they are the programming mechanisms of the devil. Children ( and adults) spend hours upon hours a day playing games where they are mostly killing people or committing crimes. This behavior is channeled and so it almost becomes normal for young men to go out and kill without remorse or emotions. Our government, in ignorance mostly, teamed up with the US almost four decades ago and declared the young men of this country ‘enemies of the state.’ Notice each year even more higher profile persons are being gunned down. The horses are running, wat you gone do?
Not so. There are some five and six stores buildings right in properties adjacent to where this project is proposed. And apparently the height restrictions have been changed for West Bay Street as many high rise buildings are being constructed.
So this lady on a talk show says she was married 30 years. So a caller asks if her husband ever tried to force himself on her during their 30 year marriage. She says ‘NO.’ So the caller asks ‘ ‘Do you know anyone personally who has been raped by their spouse. Again the answer is ‘NO’. Then the justification comes’. But we know it is happening. Husbands ( not spouses) are raping their wives and ‘one spousal rape is one too many.’
This is not the first time Dame Mageurite has chastised and rebuked Fred Mitchell ( or other PLP’s) in public. And they so needed it! The question is how does the country go from celebrating a ‘real’ Majority Rule Holiday to what many refer to now as ‘a PLP holiday?’
Government may have prematurely in discontinuing the daily dashboard for Covid. This happened when the numbers were zeros and single digits. But health officials confirm that the numbers are increasing. Two scenarios: From what I understand about these corona virus, they have to pass over the entire world’s population before they will burn themselves out and become extinct. Since this did not happen in China because of their stringent lockdowns and zero tolerance approach, it is now happening. And so China is basically a year behind the rest of the world. And as for the rest of the world, including The Bahamas, the chances of another pandemic caused by Covid-19 is very highly unlikely. But the virus is continually checking for vulnerable people. And those who let their guard down and become weak or compromised can get the virus and it can become serious or even fatal. The virus is not infecting persons fast enough to mutate. So by next winter Covid-19 may be completely gone
one family won!!! all groups bwere spectacular. Especially after a two-yesr hiatus from Bay Street. When one family took the stage, it was all eyes forward. And there was no disappointment. The music, the costumes, the choreography, the execution of its theme all well done. So we’ll orchestrated that there was little debate about who won the parade. After the ONE Family performance, the VALLEY fans waited in anxious anticipation of their group taking Bay Street by storm ( ok I’m a rain storm) and putting on a performance that would top Thr Warriors. The Valley came with their trademark c music and bedazzling costumes. The crowd was on its feet. But halfway through Rawson Square, the Valley seem to lose its momentum and it’s fans. The fan’s still standing, waited for a surprise, a Trump card that would throw the Valley well over the performance of One Family. But that surprise never came. And even Valley fans left Bay Street sucking their. Clearly in agreement that they had been beaten and One Family had won. Congratulations One Family!
Too many people are driving like they are angry or want to have a confrontation with other road users. We ain’t the reason you broke or not having a good Christmas so don’t spoil ours. Especially y’all who speed up from behind and try to squeeze back in the lane. Or set who come speeding up the regular lane then cut in front of the the cars in the turning lane. Or them set who start blowing their horns as soon as the light turn green and they six cars away from the intersection. And you dangerous clowns who turn left on the red light into oncoming traffic big and bold like you have the right of way.
Whilst the murder count this year is alarming and must be checked, statistics do not support what former pm minnis is saying. The current murder count stands at 130. The record murder count is 143 or 147 depending on whose figures you use. So far this year, The Bahamas is recording .35 murders a day or a murder every 3.5 days. Average. So with about 18 days left in the year, it is likely that this country will record another 5-6 murders this year, ( could be more, but may be less because there is a downward trend). So unless something really catostropic or highly unusual happens. Like a mass murder. The record will NOT be broken! BUT this will put the count at least TEN below the record. Nothing to be proud about, and hopefully this is the record within the record and murders will decrease next year and continue a downward trend.
Do you know for under the age of FOURTY, living on New Providence, hearing or witnessing a murder or having a family member or lived in murdered has become the NORM? And, by the same token, it has become the norm for persons to have friends or family members or coworkers wearing ankle bracelets, or charged with murder, or been to jail or coming outta jail.
.. And, except for over the past 40 years, people over 40 hardly heard of murder, hardly knew anyone that committed murder or even went to prison for that matter and definitely did not harbor or hang out w jail birds. And by the same token, persons who committed murder and was out on bail or went to jail for an even lesser offense than murder, knew they were no longer a normal citizen and a lot of their citizens rights and privileges had been revoked.
. . And fourty years ago, there was no such as a handgun, not in The Bahamad. If someone committed a crime with a firearm, it was most likely a shotgun that was stolen or one that the offender had access to by somehow someway. But not handguns are as common as streetlights and many light up as often. . . And in fourty years of high murder rates, young victims and offenders, mostly males, mostly Bahamians and mostly black, the thing for certain is there is no easy solution to crime and especially murder. Both governments have tried, with the shot spotters, the cameras, tge ankle bracelets, the drones. And the only thing that remains constant and unchanged is since the death penalty For MURDER has been vacated and aborted, the murder rate has remained exceptionally high and uncontrollable!
