If they were of undocumented parents and their status had not been determined and/or y regularised, they could not buy tickets to travel to the US. They would need , at least, a passport or travel document and maybe a visa. And it doesn’t take five minutes to get those documents.

So had it not been for the hiccup in the PM and company’s flight schedule, this entire event would have gone on unreported by the media and without knowledge of the Bahamian people. The ole people use to say’. Don’t matter how much dark glasses and big clothes you put on, God will still find a way to strip you down and expose ya tail.’ And Brave Davis dem right back in the house today trying to lie and cover up more scandals and missteps surrounding the BPL fuel hedging saga. Like they ainn ger never learn .. until they five years run out.

The Tribune/Guardian is short staffed. They just had that big buss up. So maybe they don’t have no one to monitor and censor the blogs. Just scrolling down past those inserts ( that are supposed to be advertisements) is a horrible turnoff.

God gave a legal recourse from the days of Moses. ‘Because of the hardening on man’s heart, God allowed for the granting of divorce’ Ratter than man ( or women) living in a dysfunctional marriage or one where either or both partners are being sexually or otherwise deprived or having to resort to force ( rape ) God allows divorce. BUT least those leading the charge do forget: rape is not a sex crime. It is a crime of violence that is generated by anger. So if a husband is raping he wife, something else is wrong in that marriage, duddy.

The last time the US sent troops into Haiti on a peacekeeping mission, that was supposed to last a few months, those troops ended up staying in Haiti for twenty years!! The point is twenty years plus later, the problem in Haiti still exists. If The Bahamad is obligated to send peace keeping officers, then it should do so. BUT simultaneously, this government should agitate for Haiti to be fixed.

Statistics indicate that some fifty percent of murder victims or persons committing murder were wearing an ankle bracelet. In raw terms it means that if persons charged with murder were not given bail, tge murder rate could now be under sixty. Even less as persons with ankle bracelets are now killing persons not previously involved in crime.
.
The courts argue that persons who commit crimes , even murder, have rights. But at whose expense?

So was The Bahamad made solely responsible for transporting these migrants back to their various homelands?

Many people got caught by surprise when the minimum wage went to $260.09. Most were expecting $250.00 to be the max. But the government brought the minimum wage at a time when consumer prices are skyrocketing and so there was extreme sympathy for the worker. The question now is what will happen in January if the holidays are not as good as expected? There definitely will be layoffs and downsizing. Not necessarily due to the increase in the minimum wage alone, but businesses will be right sizing themselves for the changed economy. And if the economy is better than expected for that period, especially in the hotels and tourism sector, businesses will tend towards hold on to employees longer. The difference to make up increased labor costs and increases in other operating costs will have to come from somewhere. So businesses will seek to increase sales/ revenue industry reduce expenses. Hopefully the world economy will not slip into a recession as being predicted by economists. And if the job market becomes such that many workers are willing to work jobs that pay below the new minimum wage, that is an indication that the new minimum wage is not sustainable at that time.

#“They say they are not closing down. That’s the positive. Don’t mind people saying they are closing down; they are talking out of their heads. The ones I’m dealing with are not closing down. They’d just rather cut salaries, and streamline inventory to focus on certain products. They’re not in the mindset to close down. They say they’ve come too far, and this is how they pay their bills and it’s their main investment,” Mr Turnquest said.’

.
The goal of businesses may be to remain open and not close down. But when the increases in the costs of doing business becomes reality and businesses consume all their available cash and available credit, the options become limited. Not only will the credit available become less but the cost of credit will skyrocket. So there will be casualties. The shocks are heavy and coming faster than businesses can make adjustments.

Some of the people pushing this law doesn’t just want to be separated from their spouses Divorced ( ok say husbands since that is who the survey focused on as being rapists and potential rapists) they want their husbands put away. Jailed. Then they ( the un jailed spouse) can live the single life with the dignity of being married. The experts say rape is not a crime if sexual gratification but a crime of violence. The laws of marriage already allows for a marriage to be dissolved on the grounds of physical abuse or cruelty.
