Why is this man prostituting himself in this form and fashion? Firstly if he was to even take the garbage put out under the UB seal seriously ask yourself, pastor, a few questions: First if the survey was conducted to determine how many married women are being raped ( by their husbands) why does the sample of 1,700 only include 400 married women? That is about only ten married women being interviewed for every major island in the country. Secondly, if you taking this perverted survey as gospel, how many married women in your congregation, pastor, have been raped ? Based on this survey are you agreeing that one in every twelve married women in your church have been raped by their husbands? Does your congregation support you in accepting the results of this survey as gospel? Finally , the Bible says when two people bare joined together in Holy Matrimony, they become one flesh. The proposed marital law says ‘not so’. A spouse ( the survey focuses on husbands) must verbally request and get permission to do anything ( sexually or stimulating) to his wife, including kissing and caressing, else it’s considered assault or rape in some instances. How many in your congregation, pastor agreed that a husband or spouse must get verbal permission to give physical stimulation to their spouses or to initiate the sex act or consummation even.
He that is giddy think it is the earth that is moving… under his feet.. so you fell down. how about contribute then discredit. Regardless of how and where the money is spent , it will stimulate the economy. Especially if it is done over and repeatedly. When a white man calls you delusional, wow, that’s a compliment from both of y’all. Or is you still playing the game of commenting on ya own post?
This ‘survey’ ( my foot!)!was instigated by non-submissive women who betrayed the marriage wows long before now, and defiled their marriage bed. Conducted by a sexual deviant, who exploited the students if UB and took advantage of their inexpensive and innocence to do the devils work. The survey bears the name of The University if the Bahamas, to gain credibility but clearly it needs its place in the sewer along with the persons who instigated it. The intent is to destroy the institution of marriage and the sanctity of marriage with obviously false and bogus data. Look at some other f the other stats the survey claims to reveal: the survey involved 1,700 women, of which 455 were married. Which means of the sample population basically one in every five woman were married. Four were single or otherwise engaged besides being married. Is the sample a true representation of the Bahamian female population or was it taken at the Fish Fry or a Family Island Regatta, where most of the women there were the women there were the ‘single, party type’, drinking Kalik and eating conch salad? How many church members were in the sample. Women that take their marriage wows seriously and will not betray their marriage or prostitute their responses. How many respondents were from the family islands? How many in the sample were still with their husbands? How many were estranged or separated or even in divorce proceedings? Do the survey results correspond with divorce data that shows how many marriages were terminated due to shall we say ‘ cruelty?’ Were the wives of alleged rape in a marriage with a husband that involved sexual relations or had any partner been withholding and for how long? Did the type is sex ( they are now calling rape and abuse occur before the marriage and how often? Are both parties committed to the marriage or had their been on infidelity from either or both partners? Are the spouses claiming rape and sexual abuse still in a relationship. Are they willing to separate or seek a divorce. If a marital rape law is enacted, are they willing to bring criminal charges against their spouse ? And since l, in this instance, since it was the wives that were interviewed, is it safe to conclude that if a marital rape law is passed, at least one in every twelve men married and living in The Bahamas faces the possibility of going to jail for rape and/or sexual abuse during the course of his marriage. Don’t forget to say goodbye to your children.
small businesses are definitely the most threatened by the series of shockwaves, most emanating from the government, that will affect the economy. And Brave Davis will see the effects of their policies in the next six to nine months. And the results beill also be impacted by the world economy and other activities, like the Russian War, OPEC’s decision to reduce oil production, Florida rebuild efforts ( price and supplies of building materials) and Biden’s trillion dollar government renovation and restoration spend , . About the increase in minimum wage: unfortunately because of the makeup of the Bahamian economy, the minimum wage is the lifeline for many workers. Since there is very limited upward mobility on the blue collar pay scale, increasing the minimum wage is probably the most effective means for workers to get pay increases, and yes many businesses will be negatively impacted. Many small businesses may have to become smaller or close unfortunately. But the greatest impact of the minimum wage increase is twofold. First because of the large number of workers that will be effected by this increase, the additional money in circulation will generate additional revenue both to the government and in the private sector. True, most of this money will be consumed by inflation, but that will not negate the fact that the money will be spent and circulate in the economy each week
. . Secondly. all, all, all! all the money going to the workers will be spent. It will go back into the economy and stimulate some new economic activity. And since this injection of new money into the economy on a weekly basis is long term, the multiplier effect of this new money will be greater . Call Halkitis and ask him what the multiplier effect is. I fell sleep in that part of the class. . . THE up -To 86% increase in electricity bills by June 2023; this will definitely be a drag on businesses and the economy. When this astronomical increase in power bills is paid to BPL, most of it will leave the country immediately to pay BPL’s fuel bill. AND if the amount of money going out to pay BPL’s power costs increases is greater than the money coming in from payroll increases and other sources, then the net benefit will be ZERO. And with the exception of turning up the thermostat a degree or two or shutting off some lights or other equipment, what else are businesses, homeowners prepared to do to keep their electricity bills under control.well government and BPL should do more to promote alternative energy. BPL/ government can enter into programs where they can outfit qualifying homes with solar systems and allow tge homeownet to pay a flat utility rate to BPL based on their current usage. Incentives and financial assistance should be offered to businesses , especially ones that had the potential to feed power back to the grid.
Well Minnis also listened to the wrong people during the pandemic. He was hoodwinked into believing the economy should be shut into an air and lightproof box and tucked away until the pandemic passed. True early precautions were necessary during the earlier part of the pandemic when little was known about the virus and most was speculation. And Minnis definitely saved a lot of lives by erring on the side of caution . He had to fire his health minister for breaching the protocols. But as things progressed, there was no reason not to let some stores other than banks and food stores open. People needed household furnishing for homes for people bedridden or hospitalized uniforms for work, underwear and shoes. No reason to allow these stores to open once or twice a week, even, if only for curbside service.or appointments. So AMAZON got all that business! Even people wanting to bury their dead relatives had to shop online or improvise. And remember China is still in partial lockdown because they failed to relax the protocols as the disease mutated and became less and less deadly.
The Bahamas will see a strong tourist market at least until the second quarter 2023. This will be supplemented bu the economic activity in Florida due to reconstruction and rebuilding eff and some parts of Florida not being fully available to the tourist market. Although a number of European countries are said to already going into recession, this may be delayed in The Bahamas and even in China ge region. And may prevent the country from experiencing a very creep recession and a more rapid v recovery.
disgusting and disgraceful! Basically UB is saying more married men are raping their wives than are there single men raping strangers. The person responsible for these figures have prostituted tge students if that institution and tarnished the name of the University. Definitely NOT one in 12 married women in this country have been raped by their husbands. Doesn’t worth the paper it is forged in. Most likely the number is less than four, else the divorce rate would be much, much higher . But not long ago UB then CoB also did a survey that revealed ( falsely) that one in every three students had AIDS or HIV. The person responsible for this survey should be fired and given 24 hour to leave the country. even if they Bahamian. The Tribune should hang their head in shame for publishing such garbage.
Unfortunately because most of the companies are small and don’t have different levels of management a large majority of the workforce is at or still around the minimum wage level. So if a worker leaves one fast food restaurant to go work for another, the pay will generally be the same. One will say well why didn’t they get a promotion. Well sometimes a worker may be at the supervisory level. But for some reason they may have to leave the job, say for pregnancy or illness. So when they go back into the workforce, there may be no jobs available at the supervisor level so rather than remain unemployed, they take an entry level job. Same thing happens in construction. Not that a skilled worker may go back to minimum wage, but a skilled carpenter may find himself working as semi-skilled when the job winds down. Again these workers would rather accept the position rather than remain unemployed.
