People loved Bill Clintion and they tolerated Hillary as his wife. Now that she is in the ring with Donald Trump, they are learning to like her a lil bit and tolerate her a little more. Especially now that Russia seems to be in bed with The Donald and is suspected af trying to sabotage Hillary's election campaign. They want that oil embargo lifted, among other things, at any cost. Loretta was a good second in command to Hubert Minnis. Whenever he stumbled she was there to make sure he didn't fall. People loved her in that role and had hopes of her being leader some day. But when she started to come from behind and attempted, several times, to overtake Minnis and take his role, some started to look at her in a different light. Anxious to go nowhere in a hurry, some would say. Then what if she is severely beaten again. As young boys growing up one would always fight with an older brother. And one would always get a good cut hip. But a short time later one would be right back challenging your older brother again. And one day you grow big and strong enough to beat him. You have over come. But when you go to fight him again he tells you "NO." And when you ask why he tells you, "you is your own big brother now."
@ Bah Mar liquidation: Christie let his emotions get the best of him in the Bah Mar deal and unfortunately he backed the wrong horse. The Chinese are known for abandoning large projects and letting them turn to dust in the wind. Izmirilian had his heart and soul into Bah Mar and he was determined to see it opened. After he saw how the Chinese was trying to hijack the project he cried out to Christie for help. Christie tell the man he crazy now the Chinese got the whole entire world looking at the Bahamas and wondering what they put in the food. To let the Chinese get such a strong foothold on this economy that the government went all the way across the world begging for audience with them. The question is what now? How to get Bah Mar open and get the keys out the Chinese pocket. Every Bahamian wants to know. Is the most sensible thing to do now is demand the Chinese return the property back to Izmirilian and demand he get as agreement similar to the bankruptcy he was getting out of Delaware. Where he can get a three year deal to finish Bah Mar, pay off the minor creditors and then deal with China Bank. Some believe that because of the financing requirements a buyer will have to have very deep pockets to purchase Bah Mar. But the othe major concern is the integrity of the structure. The buildings will require high maintenance.
The communications market in the Bahamas is neither saturated, neither is it stagnant. So it will be up to BTC to come up with new and innovative ways to preserve its revenue even if it means branching or crossing over into new markets. The good thing is Cable Bahamas will sot storm the market like a hurricane or tornado so this will give BTC the opportunity to adjust to market forces as it feels the impact of Cable. Soem feel that BTC fought itself out before the competition came and now has to go through a phase of rebranding, and remarketying itself.
Mr. Ingraham did the right and proper thing by declaring that he is not interested in returning as leader of the FNM or serving in any elected position. This gives all and sundry the opportunity to put an all out effort into trying to win whatever post they are running for without feeling there's someone looking over their shoulder or that the boogie man is coming out of the closet to get them. Then the outcome of the election is strictly for their blame or credit..No one else to point fingers at. It is now up to those who are successful in the nominations to extend the olive branch, and those who are defeated to accept their fate. Loretta already seems to be savoring the agony of defeat and whatever happens is of her own doing, weather Minnis allows her a nomination to run in the next election or if he decided to sit her down for a while. No leader will feel comfortable when someone is constantly challenging him for the leadership post, so Minnis alone will have to decide how he deal with it. . **"All (politicians) are naughty. Then maybe it's time for the Bahamas to consider term limits for prime ministers. While Barak Obama is doing his best ***not*** to ruffle any feathers and to make sure dot all his 'i's' and cross all his "t's", and allow for an easy transition to the next president, Christie after 40 plus years in politics, and 10 years prime minister, is trying to get another 5 years on the political bandwagon. With the reins of prime minister in has hands. For him there is no need of urgency to pass the baton on to another (younger) leader and this causes some to die with it in their hands, leaving chaos and a leaderless party behind. Sometimes even a country with no direction. The same for Ingraham: Should there even be talks about him coming back to lead the FNM at this stage? Not that he is incapable, but you should pass the baton but once.

Donald Trump is causing an implosion in the Republican party. Bernie Sanders is causing issues for the Democratic party establishment. Labour have been tearing strips off each other since Jeremy Corbyn became leader. And as of last weekend, the Conservatives seem to be heading for an all-out civil war.

Ingraham should have made this call at least two years ago. Since he was the one that put Minnis in place as leader, Ingraham should have been the catalylst to bring the party back together. Infighting is not always a bad thing as long as one does not allow it to drag on too long or become too hostile and turn into a cancer.
Another mass shooting in the US. This time in South Florida. Sixteen people shot, two dead. Most victims are teenagers who were attending a teen party at Club Blu. One as young as 14 years old believed deceased.
Many businesses are facing the same question. Some have lost Hundreds of Thousands of dollars since 2008, only hoping the economy would bounce back. But since last year the economy seems to be slipping. One of the reasons is government introduced VAT as part of its tax reform. Instead of replacing customs duties and stamp tax with the VAT as was suppose to happen, they seem to want to hold on to both forms of taxation. This is in addition to the other increases on business license and other things. Chlorine to treat your well is 655 duty plus 7.5% VAT So these taxes and the web shops are sucking every available dollar out the economy. Since there is no growth the country is feeding on itself. It is hemmoarging. If something doesn't change there will be an economic collapse. Business people were taking out loans or using up their savings for the past eight years just to stay afloat. The government has taxed them more in the past five years than anytime in recent history. At some point it becomes the wise thing to shut a business down rather than throwing funds down a seemingly bottomless pit. Especially when national Insurance is facing its own sets of challenges and may not be sustainable if the economy was not change soon.
