China has built cities to accommodate 1 million residents, yet only 28,000 (yes Twenty Eight Thousand) people live there. They have tried to build a duplicate city of Manhattan, it remains unfinished since 1998. The Chinese tried to copy Disney World, but before the project was completed, it was abandoned because of disputes over land prices. They tried to build a replica of London but the project is incomplete. They have built a $61 million airport, but yet it receives only 5 flights a day. Shopping malls, some of the largest in the world are strewn across China but many of them remain abandoned and unused and the list goes on and on. Most of China's projects were not abandoned for lack of funds because of lack of proper planning and forward thinking. And there and many projects around the world that china has abandoned, some involving the China Construction Company, that had serious construction defects and are at a standstill or had to go many millions over budget to get completed.

It is time for the Bahamian people and the Government of the Bahamas and all other parties who have an interest to join forces and bring pressure of the Chinese to get Bah Mar open. And rather than even considering additional concessions and tax breaks, the government should seek to get equity in Bah Mar for Bahamian people's land and stop giving it away.

One of the hardest thing for a father is when you have a son or daughter and they come of age when they want to drive. While mothers tend to cope better with teaching a teen to drive, Most fathers would prefer to send the teen to driving school. And even after the teenager gets a license the father is not comfortable driving with him her. Then once the father feels that the teen could handle him/her self behind the wheel and on the road he will find 1,000 errands for his son or daughter to do. So if Christie never left anyone else sit in the driver's seat much less taught them how to drive that is an indictment on him. It is not that he is such a good and irreplecable leader, its that he was selfish and a bad teacher.

The Bahamas is set to experience one of the greatest reductions in crime this year. At least violent crime, and crimes against the person, including murder. Dr. Gay, vis a vis the Commissioner of Police, Elliston Greenslade, must continue to urge his officers to exercise professionalism, patience, restraint and caution when carrying their duties. Some officers tend to get bored when there is peace and they will'pick a fight' just to get an adrenaline rush. This sets off a domino effect in the community and the violence escalates. Sometimes the police becomes too aggressive. Case in point: A police pulled up on a vehicle and accused the driver of running the red light. Because the driver denied running the light the officer became belligerent and said the driver was saying he was stupid and did not see when he ran the light. And further that he could take up his argument with the judge in court. What had happened is the vehicle that had apparently run the red light turned off through one of the side corners when the police put on his siren and came after him. Since there were no other vehicles in the immediate area the police assumed the vehicle he pulled over was the one who ran the light. In fact the officer was so sure he had the right person, he became aggressive and belligerent. So an innocent driver was taking the blame for someone else. So then this person will go and take his faustration on someone else.

They don't want the dirty deeds and the Chinese exposed. That why PGC all over the place fighting for another 5 years of political life. Remember he say he is prime minister and even after someone go to God and pray for something, they still have to come back to him. Now many people starting to pray to God that Perry Christie even lose his seat in the election and never come back as prime minister.

It would be a disgrace and a shot to democracy if this government is involved in efforts to jam and block out some radio stations. Every day around the same time one radio station is virtually blocked out and the government owned radio station is heard as far down on the dial that it even blocks out the other stations on the dial. Yet not a single politician has raised the question with government as to why this is happening. According to the station owners whenever they clear the frequency it is jammed again. Remember who freed the airwaves and who kept them on lock then cry shame!

This is so much pure , political bull$shit no use even trying to wipe up after the exercise. How can the Department o Statistics prostitute itself in this fashion for the second year counting? The cold, hard, undeniable facts are that this government was unable to put even a two percentage dent in the unemployment numbers over a 4 2 year period. In fact real unemployment may have increased under this government alone with the number of discouraged workers and the number of other workers who are no longer looking for work because of other reason. Even if you take the number of workers employed by carnival and prorate their term of employment over a 12 month period it would not affect the unemployment rate by more than a percentage point.

On Carnival jobs helped with unemployment

Sounds like Munroe wants Sakis to just walk away from his investment and not try to recover any of the hundreds of millions has has invested. Obviously the Chinese are dragging their feet on the winding up process, and the longer the matter takes the less money will be returned to Sakis, if any. Obviously the Chinese want him out and what is less obvious is that they may want to take full control of Bah Mar as the owners and operators. Munroe himself seem to be pointing fingers and should push the process forward so that everything may be completed before the general elections. Since the incompetency of China Construction, as it relates to Bah Mar, has been proven over and again, Sakis may need to take his case to a more neutral court and prove his case that China Construction is solely responsible for the disposition Bah Mar is in. And further because of the agreement with China Bank, he could not fire the contractors and since China Bank did not act on his behalf to either fire China Construction or, in the alternatitive get them to produce quality work and in a timely manner, China Bank may have, in fact, by its actions or inactions, colluded with China Construction Company, to the detriment of Sarkis Izmirilian and Bah Mar. And if need be The government of the Bahamas may also be named as a party to the lawsuit since, rather remaining neutral in the matter, the government help wrestle Bah Mar and deliver it securely in the hands of the Chinese. Don't leave this dirt for another government to clean up.
