Base on the IMF's projections, if carnival was valued at $12 million, that event would contribute less than $300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Dollars) to the GDP. And when you consider that the event was not a year round activity the amount would be much less (maybe less than $100,000.00, One Hundred Thousand Dollars even.)

Attention Mr. Paul junkano carnival Major: The IMF claims that a $250 million cut in the cost of the Bahamas' oil import bill will have a 2.5% impact on the GDP. Yet you claim a $12 million carnival production will have a $60 million impact on the GDP. Ok sure you were wearing a clown suit when you tossed up a hat and came up with those numbers! Because you could never be serious!

The structure may be 97% complete but getting a project that size up and running to a level of profitability is another challenge. There is little or no local market so what will be the attraction to this property? Most Americans still prefer cruise ships and/or cannot afford frequent visits to Bah Mar just to gamble. If the project was done in stages it would have been easier to obtain profitability and there would have been the opportunity to adjust the product.

So when they had the foreign (white) man running BTC he couldn't get the phone system fixed and you know what else happened that forced other people to resign after this man got fired. Now is the same thing going to happen at PowerSecure err I mean BEC?

So one company received property tax breaks equivalent to the total amount of property taxes owed by every one else in the country? $500 million? And while the government has collection agencies out there threatening persons who are in financial stress and can least afford to pay and denying Bahamiand licenses to operate because they can't afford to pay their taxes, they give concessions and tax breaks equivalent to the national budget to one company. A national disgrace! A crying shame!

Food for thought: Hubert Ingraham,at the outset of the Bah Mar project, felt it was too big to be done all at once. He was requesting the project be done in phases like Atlantis. However he was flown to China and persuaded by the Chinese to have the project done all at once. So did the Chinese have ulterior motives from the beginning? O what a tangled web we weave!

*Hmm...I don't think he has anything to do with it, unless he personally built and installed and paid for additional cell towers*

Still the joke of the day!

The two Bahamians that we're miss several weeks ago were found off the coast of Florida. Their 16 foot boat capsized so many times in the high seas they lost count. But they continued to cling on to it. Unfortunately the young boys from Florida got separated from their boat and even though they had like getting vests it is unsure if they had time to put them on

Geoff Houston got fired because he could not fix the problem despite the millions that was spent. That among other things where others at BTC were fired or asked to resign. Leon Williams was brought in on a short contract with the understanding that he could fix the cell problem. He made adjustments to the system installed additional towers and the dropped calls have dropped significantly and other problems on the network have been corrected. Geoff Houston had four years and could not get the system to work even to a satisfactory level. Some of the equipment he installed had to be replaced. He was fired after some twenty plus years at Cable and Wireless! You sound rather dumb or prejudice when you say that unless the CEO of a multimillion dollar company "personally built and installed and paid for towers" he was not responsible for fixing the system. Did Geoff Houston personally build or install or personally pay for anything at BTC before he was fired? This is 2015. Incredibly Unbelievable!!
