Another one killed last night and still a few days before the half year mark. Country is well on its way to recording at least 120 murders in 2015. Seems like everyone come to accept that as a fact and little else is being done to prevent it. Half a year gone and we still have more murderers on the streets (accused or unidentified) than we have in prison. It is a sad state of affairs when the first thing the average citizen does when he wakes up is check to see, "who get kill last night." Unfortunately they will wake up at least sixty more times this year to find that indeed, someone has been killed!
When a person is targeted like this and shot a number of times it is more than a robbery (even though they stole his possessions). Especially when. from all accounts, he did not put up a resistance and no one else is injured. Who is killing Bahamian men and why?
I am sure there has to be some mistake in this story. How could VAT at 7.5% increase insurance premium by $40 -$100 a month? That would mean these premiums range from $533.00 and $1,333.00 a month. Sounds rather high for an average worker to be paying $15,000 a year in health insurance.
"Fool them once shame on you, fool them thrice" then that's a bloody shame! Most people in South Eleuthera ain't buying Perry Christie promises and the talks from his lying sidekick, Franky Wilson, is falling on deaf ears. Many would rather see him (Wilson) leave town. It will take even more than boots on the ground and shovels in the dirt to convince the people that Perry Christie and this government will live up to his promises. That is the type of (in) credibility this government established with the people of Eleuthera. Fourty years and counting.
From what I am hearing about this deal it appears that the cost of electricity will go up before it goes down. (If it will ever go down). This will mean that the 6,000 plus consumers ((who may represent at least 30,000 persons) will once again without electricity. Also since PowerSecure will have more strict collection guidelines and less interest in keeping every Bahamian home with power, many more homeowners will fall off the grid. Many businesses will fall off also and will have to close shop.
Well they did host NBA games here before it was under an air conditioned tent with a special designed floor that was brought in and the promoters were supposed to donate to the government. Wonder where it is now? A wild guess? Right next to those tents that were donated some years ago after a hurricane.
