There are sure signs that the local market is dwindling despite an upswing in tourism. Just hope this is a temporary market adjustment to vat.

Not only May there need for capital punishment but there needs to be some learning and relearning of our youth. They are bombarded with music and movies and social media that teach and promote negative and violent behavior, murder included. Because of the shortage of lethal injection drugs, one state has applied for permission to use shooting squads to carry out their executions

So what happens in the event a company goes through all this work and expense and exposure and their application is denied? They simply close shop and lose all these resources or are they given time to qualify and/or wind up their operations?

The thing is too there are many dragsters in the music/entertainment industry. Many Bahamian promoters have lost thousands paid to "agents" of entertainers who later disappeared into thin air. Other entertainers showed up but refused to perform unless outrageous demands made at the last minute were met. At the ninth hour there may be the need to invest more heavily in local talent and give them sufficient lead time to purchase proper equipment for the event.

The fear I have is the VAT and the webshops and the other leakages sucking the Bahamas economy dry. This is just 10 days into the month and all the banks and many businesses are empty. You can walk right up to the teller in many banks and be served. Many businesses are saying their sales fall off significantly after the first week in the month. Pray that Bah Mar's 5,000 jibs in three weeks reverses that trend.

But on the other hand what you think would happen if "the tribune" would print tomorrow 's edition with just the date and price on the front page? They may probably sell out. Why? Because the Tribune has an established market of persons who will buy the Tribune anyway. Many will not notice until they sit down to read and others will see it as a collector's item.

Again you use my name to spew your racist garbage. Did the KKK chase you out the USA?

Most Bahamian school children do not know any white person except for the tourists they see downtown. And that's what they call them, 'tourists ". One thing Bahamians are taught at a very early age is the importance of the tourists dollar in this country. Since you lie on innocent Bahamian children your credibility is ways below zero.
