B.E.C still has to explain why consumers are getting billed for fuel surcharge when fuel (oil) has dropped to pre-fuel surcharge prices. Bahamians are paying $300.00 more on a $500.00 light bill than they should be paying. Their real bill should only be $200.00. Imagine how many families can use this money to put food on their tables or help with other bills. Imagine a business that is now paying a $3,000.00 light bill that should only be around $1,500.00. Imagine if they can pass this savings on to the consumer. You can see how B.E.C is holding Bahamians by these overly inflated electricity bills? yet they claim the corporation is broke. Where is the money going? Something is drastically BoB, wrong
two thirds of our electricty bill Is A fuel surcharge based on when oil goes over $76.00 a barrel. Since oil is at $77 a barrel this fuel surcharge should be pennies. So a bill that was $600.00 in June should be no more than $230.00 now. BEC needs to be audited.
Gas prices have fallen in the US to below $3.00 and homeowners are saying their light bills are once again affordable to the point where they can run a/c and heaters more comfortably. When will we see this here in the Bananas? Even when BEC was cutting the light off 20 a day in September, they bill was higher than it was in 2013.
three of the most criminal acts this government has done is clear visibility of the bahamian people: 1. The raping of bank of the bahamas by croonies and crooks that left the bank hemmoraging, and the firing of everyone who attempts to expose the massive fraud and deception to cover the dirty act and keeping Paul Mcweeney on as managing director rather than holding him directly accountable for what has happened to this bank. 2. The sham that is going on with the construction of the duplicate building on J.F.K. Even the blind can see that the construction is not progressing at a normal pace as if to give the impression that more works are involved than there really is. When you look at both buildings together they are barely worth the value of one. A clear example of tax payer money being frittered away. 3 the critical care block at PMH
Many Bahamians with money in their pockets are government workers or hotel employees. They do not shop locally. What is Bahamasair going to and from Miami next month?
is super value a Creole owned business? Or the Chinese food stores on Carmichael? Go and speak to any of the owners or managers of stores in the areas where there are dense Haitian populations and they will tell you that sales are off, more than is usual for this time of the year. Your claim that Haitian buying power with Bahamians businesses is not substantive is like saying an island does not have to be surrounded by water to be an island.
