Well lets not forget that the Police will not ever 'Prevent' crimes from happening, the nature of the Criminal Justice system throughout the world is only Reactive, this is not the 'Minority Report'; however, Proactive measures to reduce crime accompanied by good sensible practices to thwart criminal activity must always be of priority. Criminals do not go on vacation, they hunt when they see opportunity like the Hyenas of the African bush.
These gunman are getting bolder by the day. You mean to tell me that they shot up the same yard two days in a row seemingly around the same time of night? Why were patrols not stationed in the area after the first incident? There should be some presence in the area for at least 48 to 72 hours after an incident like the first, to ensure that these Mongrels don't return in the case that their mission was not carried out the way they intended after the first time. Incidents like this particularly in the states, officers whether marked or unmarked usually station themselves in the area to ensure that these mass shooters don't return looking for others or return looking for the person(s) that they did not get the first time because obviously these Mongrels have no fear of returning to the same crime scene more than once.
Sadly most of the vacant overgrown properties along this Sandford Drive strip is said to be owned by Christie's and Ingraham's chambers and are currently not for sale.
Well maybe the National Trust should get up to date with times and form an armed Wildlife & Habitat Law Enforcement Team, with jurisdiction to monitor and safe guard our various preserves and charge persons in connection with expired hunting licenses, hunting and fishing offences etc. This can also help to assist the Defence Force in these Areas since they are so weighed down in the look out for illegal immigrants and poaching in our water off land. Maybe the BNT can help to enforce inland and inter coastal water passages, lakes, blue holes etc. I dont know just a thought. Just as America does in the enforcement of good hunting & fishing practices in various zones and sanctuaries...
A society that breeds criminals, is a society that is failing due to the poor economic nature of the country. The people are unemployed, hungry, uneducated, and desperate so therefore they will resort to the next measure which is to steal, rob, kill, and take justice into their own hands. This is a problem that was bound the take the country by storm. From the days of Pindling's swindling, the fast careless life of the 80's to the slowly severed drug kingpin era of the 90's. Then people bring up the church. Yes, ye old chapel. The church physically exists in terms of buildings, chairs and pulpits, but does it really influence the wild spirits of the modern Bahamian? I think not, we have become too diluted with the lusts and materials of life to ever respect the vehicle that carries the spirit. Only God can save us.
Happy that Ms Brown was able to take them to court. Hopefully this case brings awareness and revision to the outdated Employment Act, being the only case to ever come up in the system of this nature. The problem is, most Bahamians cannot afford the legal fees associated with taking this big lucrative organization to court. Even the Unions fail at serving Atlantis who always files an injunction while the cases end up stalemated. This is why Atlantis never goes the full length to ensure employees are treated well because they know that their complainants are unable to pursue any justice beyond their crafty letters, and underground Human Resource offices. Obviously who ever has been dealing with this matter on behalf of Atlantis was too lazy and not interested in procuring a less demanding position based on Brown's disability. They just decided to go the route that they always do which is to supply the former employee with a letter containing a well crafted termination rhetoric and an unfair severance check which is probably in the amount of the employees last pay check, along with unused vacation days, what ever bonuses that they may be entitled to, and a percentage based on the amount of years spent working for them which is always a slap in the face of the already over-worked, underpaid employee.
Let it be someone taking advantage of or stealing money in those amounts from your business or company that you are responsible for overseeing and then talk about what dollars was, and whos time was wasted. Hypocrite.
I told you all a very long time about this lady & of course it is revealing itself. You cannot blame Bannister for doing his job. Hate him all you want, he was elected and selected for the position that he has. The problem with Bahamians is that when they are told the truth, they are always under the impression that they are being lied to, and when people lie boldly in their faces they take it as honest truths. Many Bahamians are so selfish that they always think someone is out to get them. Aint nobody swinging anybody other than that corrupt Executive board at BPL hired on by your corrupt PLP & I applaud Bannister for dissolving the board before they cost the taxpayers more money over time. The one who makes the hard decisions is always the one that is hated but hard decisions must be made, this is business, nothing personal like the makeup, and security features for this lady who believes she is entitled and already gobbling up a massive salary to pay for many of her personal endeavors that she does not have to charge the company for (for example) out probably many conflicts committed by these same board members.

Wasn't this the old quarters of the last Ambassador to the United Kingdom that used to be guarded by RBDF personnel at some point in the early 2000's?
