One must be an absolute fool to think that these Number House's employ that much people. Also the profits reported are disturbingly less than what these guys actually make. The goal for these pirates was always to make more while spending less, especially on personnel. Dont allow these fools to bamboozle you into thinking that they employ such a large amount of persons. One webshop can get by with just 2-3 employees, while the employees of Island luck, asue draw, and flowers combined is still lower than the total number reported. Their operation is very simple. Most of the work is done on their computers and software, you only need personnel to assist with collections & counting, most of which is handled by the 2-3 employees of each outlet and ultimately 1 or 2 accountants per chain. Major repairs to infrastructure goes toward private entities and minor maintenance go toward one team of maybe 5 persons who go around making sure handy work is done, also the IT team may only consist of 5 or less programmers/graphic designers (being very generous with that number) per chain.
Having no VAT on shoes & clothing doesn't mean that Bahamians will not pay double what the shoes & clothing are actually worth, that's how those businesses thrived before VAT. $40 for a pack of 5 Hanes undershirts will still be $40, even though it is only worth $19.
These murderous thugs are getting more & more brazen. Two Assassinations in a barbershop at 10AM sounds like a result of a serious revenge and pure hatred for human life. Cant even get your hair cut in peace anymore and sadly the owners and other barbers are out of a Saturdays income because of the murderous slimes that roam such a small town in the name of evil.
McAlpine needs to shut his mouth on this. These MP's make their own assumptions without doing proper research & then go blabbering their mouths as if its science or gospel. Income tax would be worse than this. Im sure Turnquest had income tax as an option & did a good job of avoiding it. People barely make enough money to live, and now you speak of income tax? Considering the fact that it will be Income Tax + the VAT at 7.5% that already exist. Its not like they will give income tax and remove VAT, that is utter nonsense. Im still puzzled as to how they will avoid this VAT rise on the proposed exempted goods if VAT is taken out on the Subtotals of 'all' items purchased. There will still be a VAT even if these exempted goods prices were lowered for purchase, companies need to make double what they spend on the product. So for example: thats a bar of soap from manufacturer for $2(msrp), sold for $4(business profit) + VAT or + VAT on the subtotal of all goods purchased on a shopping list? Still cant avoid the VAT even on exempted goods seem like.
Where is the oats, porridge, sardine, tuna, honey etc? Cant forget the toothpaste and mouthwash & floss because the poor peoples mouths will now be stinker & more septic than before. There should be a lot more things added to this list yet the infectious corned-beef prevails, the same meat that has been failing quality inspections, the only form of protein on the list?
The Christian Council is merely just that, a council; with no real influence to the 'business side' of things within the government. They are no more or less influential than any other council or idle 'assembly' of self proclaimed groups of bigots and naysayers alike, who for some reason reslish themselves in holding press conferences to secure a spot in the nightly news, news papers and radio news segments. You pastors need to be more concerned with upholding your pulpit's credibility and get back to real 'business' of the Church with is mainly positive & spiritual influence, support & upliftment of various persons within society.
Of course he wont commit. Only a buffoon would. It will undoubtedly be a blame game,a simple 'they did it not us' type of thing whilst elbow deep in the cookie jar babbling their juicy mouths with crumbs trickling onto their $2k suits and dresses, about how they cannot reverse it because the 'former govt' left them in a position where they may have to 'increase' it. This political game is real magic show, and a good magician never reveals his/her secrets despite the fact that the tricks were revealed decades prior.
